I hope you get further than us! We have come to loggerheads today, We will have a definate answer by the end of the week fingers crossed. I fear bad news though..... Our IFA also commented on what a complete shambles this whole thing is, whilst I was sat at my desk in tears!
  • If they are going on date order (as they should be) you have as good a chance as anyone- not much consolation, I know!
I wish they would just put us out of our misery, tell us one way or the other, sick of the ever increasing timescales.

Every day I visit this website hoping to hear that someone has had some good news. But it never happens!! :(

It just goes to show what a complete shambles this whole thing is!!

But, I guess if it wasnt for this scheme then I wouldnt stand a chance!

We were given a timescale of 2 days yesterday as ours was passed to the manager on Friday. I'm hoping we'll hear something tomorrow but I'm not counting on it!!

I think we're all starting to learn not to build our hopes up too much now!

I expect the worse now. We have been informed that they are taking non guaranteed overtime and bonus' into account too, which takes our earnings over 60k. We have pointed out that a mortgage company through normal channels would not use this, we were told that it was, and I quote "Tough". so it's down to our IFA to thrash it out with them now. (we were also told, TV are trying to deter people from applying!) Housebuying is stressful enough and TV make it a million times worse. One day someone might actually get accepted. I also wonder what TV looked when emplying these people ? You must have, no customer service skills, not be able to work as a team and be totally unable to work to tight deadlines .....

What is very concerning is the number of people who have been told the same things - was everyone's application received on the 15th May? Did they lose nearly everyones paperwork? Has everyone had the "2 weeks" then "she's on holiday" then "another 2 weeks" then "tomorrow" (and when tomorrow comes, "another two weeks"). I wonder how much time they are spending actually processing applications as I rather feel they are taking irate phone calls most of the time. If they simply were honest with us all and honestly said how long it is going to be then we would all be in better positions.

Its now a couple of days since i posted the original thread, and i have been at loggerheads with TVHA today.

They seemed to be a lot more understanding to our situation, and said that i should call within a week so that a more definitive update could be provided on the status of our application. I also received an email from the manager saying the usual waffle "high demand, unprecedented levels, blah, blah blah".

I have written a strongly worded email to by local MP in Basingstoke, and copying it to Vince Cable in Twickenham - where TVHA are based. I suggest you all do the same and maybe these clowns can be dealt with.

You can search for Vince at the following website:

    findyourmp . parliament . uk / constituencies / twickenham

Remove the spaces and bobs your uncle.

Do it, we can not afford these fibbing idiots to single-handidly collapse the housing market....

They were quite understanding with us at the beginning (well after my other half spent 58 minutes on hold waiting for them to answer, to then be told that the whole department is in a mtg all day, said she would transfer him to voicemail and cut him of!) case worker is now extremely off with us, almost on a power trip about the whole thing "You will have to wait for me" etc. I am just feel so fed up with the whole lot. Almost like this whole thing is unobtainable, the government have said they must help people back on the housing ladder, but it has been made near impossible for anyone to get this funding... The reason we have found it hard to save is that my partner pays hundreds of pounds a month in maintenance for his boys, but as case worker nicely pointed out, that is our problem.
  • PS we will be writing to anybody and everybody about this. Watchdog too I think....

    Re: Mis PixieWix posts above.

Our offer was also accepted on 28 April, and it must seem to the vendor that we aren't moving along at all: she wants to move early to mid July and we havent even booked the survey yet...

We phoned Thames Valley today and the woman that (eventually) answered said our application was right in front of her at that moment. She said that she will phone us back tomorrow...If I believed it was just a matter of being signed off then I would be happy, but I dont trust anything they say any more! So a long day spent waiting for the phone to ring tomorrow...

Have you been lucky enough to get your phone call today?!
