Good to hear things are on track for you Sandra and withoutatrace. We will keep our fingers crossed but it may be dangerous to hold our breath! : ) I really do hope to hear form anyone registered with Metropolitan on this forum to find out if they are any further down the track than we are.

    Hi .
Have some friends whose buyer is using Metropolitan, they accepted offer at end of April and heard today that it has been approved and survey is now booked. Hope that helps!
  • We got a letter today, saying that we have to complete by 15th July, so once you get approved things seem to move pretty fast. (with Thames Valley) Things took so long that we have had to get a different mortgage, but hopefully everything will be done in time...
  • Although now Estate Agents say we are too far behind and should get an extension...oooh this is stressful!

Complete by 15th July oh gosh withoutatrace that is quite soon. We've been told it takes two weeks between exchange and completion on this scheme and are still waiting for confirmation that the survey has been booked as that needs to be done before exchange - have you had your survey booked yet?
How is everyone else doing? At least the sun is shining again!!

Thats the same date as us!

We've applied for our mortgage and the solicitor has a draft contract from the sellers solicitor.

The solicitor said it should take 4-8 weeks to get everything done, as long as there are no delays, which could mean that it wont be done by 15th July! Argh!!!

Wonder if Thames Valley expect us to stick to timescales!!!!

There's so much going on at the moment, I cant keep up with it!! lol
Offer accepted on new home - 23/04/09

Days left to count hair loss - LOTS!
  • I was slighty confused there, we have to exchange contracts by 15 July, then wait, I think, 3 weeks before we complete. We have asked Thames Valley for an extension, just to be safe. We have paid out for mortage arrangement fee, solicitors, reports etc now so we really can't afford for them to let us down...I checked the letter and it said 2 months from property being approved.

Hi everyone, I only really use the site to read up on things- but have found this thread so interesting. We are in an awful position where Thames Valley have no record on me. I applied in my maiden name- got married and then all the information was sent from the Independant financial advisor in my new name. Not sure what happened but they haven't go the information on me anymore. Crazy! especially as we found our dream flat. This was way back in May. Anyway I have sent a letter of complaint in and the manager asked me to send my whole pack again.
I am just amazed to see the amounts of mixed messages they give everyone.
Hope that there are some some successful people out there.
May write to my MP too....

Well unfortunately not everyone is in the luxurious position of having at least 10% deposit in one of the most expensive areas of the country. This could virtually amount to £20k.

But thanks again for the obvious oversight on my part.

Yes well said! What an unhelpful comment!

I have had a very similar experience. I had the same response ' if it falls through, find another one' how unhelpful and inconsiderate!

If I didn't HAVE TO use them, I would have sacked them off LONG ago! It is now finally going through,. However, TV have the cheek to now put a timescale in place for exchange otherwise they will withdraw the funds!

Oh well, needs must and all that.

    Good luck hang in there.

Thanks for all the comments, good to hear (in a bad way) that others are facing similar problems with TVHA. Its scary that people can operate in this way to customers.

Anyway, we have been calling week after week now and our case handler has now said that our application is due to be processed next monday 22nd, so we will see if this is adhered to. Good to finally get a "definitive" date out of them....i do use the word "definitive" very very loosly. Hopefully the confirmation letter wont be too long after that.

How are people getting on with applications post TVHA letter? are the dates realistic and acheivable? I hope so.

We brought via shared ownership 9 years ago 50% through tvh we get no help or any thing i.e need new windows our problem , want a loan no chance shared ownership phone goes down . our 50 % rent goes up every year service charged for what? when we brpught tvh are totally unflexible and will not budge an inch even if it means losing out on the property you are after . i would sell up and rent but the wife wont agree .
my mistake was being honest and green if i lied via self serps i could of brought a whole house instead of half a house . truth does not pay when house buying.
