Greenbee - was the program - 10 Things You Need To Know About Losing Weight? Was on BBC1 last week but is repeated this Saturday at 01.25 (not currently on i-Player)

Thanks Hippy! I'll look on i-Player once it's been repeated!

soappie.. when we got our mortgage neither I nor hubby had either a passport nor a driving licence (I still have neither!!).. they accepted a couple of utility bills (council tax was suggested as it is a formal document.. we used the tax credit letter too), a bank statement and our marriage certificate... if he doesn't need a new passport then tell the mortgage people they don't have those things and there are other options!!

Piggers - he's given them personal bills, he's been on the electoral role here for years. He's given birth certificate, marriage certificate, all manner of individual bills, but he has no personal council tax bill because he's not left home! There are no quick options. He's not even got a tax certificate (apart from a P60) because he's not changed jobs for ages.

We are currently contemplating a trip to Newport tomorrow - if we can get an appointment...

Greenbee - big hugs love - you're going to be going through the mill in the next few weeks. I'm sending you big coping vibes. Are we still contemplating doing the walk on Saturday?

Thanks soappie ... yes, I'm going to be walking, so if you and BB and froddy (and anyone else here!) are up for it, then we can meet somewhere midway between us and I'll find a shortish walk we can do. Exercise will help keep my mind off things ... plus I need to lose that stone before my brother's wedding :D

Unless anyone objects it makes sense... we know how to get there and should be able to park (unless it's really fantastic weather!). What time do you want to meet?

oops... better go and clean my teeth and go to bed if I'm going to be up at 6

Greenbee (and Frodders when you're about - and anyone else). I suggest we meet by the pub at about 11 or 11.30 am then we can do the three mile walk and be suitably hungry to demolish lunch at 12.30 ish at the pub.

I have given up trying to get through to the 24 hour passport hotline. It clearly ain't 24 hour!

We have now decided on a two-pronged attack and Newport is out of the equation (which I'm relieved about -heading back from Wales on a Friday afternoon in the summer is not my idea of fun!).

DS and DiL have a second appointment with the mortgage man tomorrow afternoon. I have impressed on them that they need to try and get something firm from him with a condition that the extra bit of proof will follow.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, I'll get the passport application to the post office tomorrow, get it checked and send it off.

At the same time, I will phone DS's tax office in the morning (which is bl*dy Bristol) and ask if there's anyway they can get a tax certificate to our local enquiry office which I can then either pick up on DS's behalf or can drive DS to to pick up (but what's the betting they'll want proof of identity that he doesn't have?). Or at least get one in the post special delivery or something.

Blimey, it seems if you stick at a long term job, don't need benefits, don't drive and don't travel, you can't prove who you are!

Am now having a stiff, late Gordon.

I have, in between, managed to eat dinner and load the DW up afterwards.
