Yay party at my house - loads of hormonal, emotionally led drunk women
if that doesn't lead to tears then i don't know what will
cafc - i hope you are feeling a bit better this morning and are taking some of the advice on board. take some time over the weekend and re stock. get OH to spoil you a little - run you a nice bath, cook you dinner etc and just relax. then you can start taking back control of your life and planning for the futureGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
cafc, I would say def look at a dmp, but think very carefully before you go down any sort of IVA route.
A dmp is flexible - if you are with CCCS, and you find your own circumstances change eg if you fell pregnant or lost your job, then you could change your dmp payments to fit your new income. This is not so easy on an IVA, where it is far less flexible. Plus, if you fail on an IVA, they can make you bankrupt, which might be an issue if OH applies for the police again, or if he applies for the prison service for example.
Did you do the debt remedy on CCCS website? What did it suggest would be a reasonable option?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Only just caught up and sob my eyes out if Im honest....
You are all such amazing people and if i could put into words how you all save me from sinking (much) further into the darkness I would....
So far ive been out for a walk with DH and the practice members this morning and then we went for an open day at the fire service where he has just applied to. tp be honest it was a bit disappointing but then again I dont really care much for fire service stuff so no wonder i was bored, and then just drove back and now we're just chilling out with cups of tea.....
As for taking annual leave from the practice thats not an option. We close at set times of year and everyone is off all at the same time. Plus if I asked I know what the response would be.....and I can understand that, we're serving a huge amount of people, and if im not there it lets them all down, which i wouldnt want to do. Next weekend is a long weekend and we're going rock climbing for a couple of hours next saturday so that'll be something different to do, and then we have the bank holiday monday off, plus i'll be at the funeral on the tuesday....
I know I have to start thinking about what I can have in the future but this whole not knowing what we're going to do come the end of the month is so hard. I did the debt rememdy thing on ccs and they have just emailed me some questions which i have replied to so we'll see what happens there....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
You are bound to feel all sorts of emotions right now - perhaps once the funeral is over you will be able to move on just a little. You have a lot of "stuff" all battling for space in your head right now.
CCCS are very helpful, in my experience. Although I never went down the DMP route in the end, they were very good to talk to on the phone - perhaps give them a call just to talk things through, even though you have done the debt remedy?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I know, but if you pick up the phone, you may be able to chat through some of the stuff with them anyway - before you get any more stuff through online. It might help you feel as though you are still doing something positive?
Or go onto the National Debtline website - I think they do all the templates for a DIY dmp, and can help with figures too - even if you don't end up using them, just printing stuff off and going through the motions can sometimes help.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. well i think im going to wait just to see what comes through from them, with any luck, the job will come good for DH on tuesday and he'll be back to earning soon enough, and then he WILL get the job with the fire service and he WILL be back to earning over 25k, and then we can make some large overpayments to some of the peskier debts and clear them and then concentrate on the larger.
HOWEVER in the mean time if we can get a DMP or an IVA to buy some breathing space until that does happen it would be great.......
I think Im going to write a little list of the things I would like to do to try and give myself some motivation to not always be thinking about the financial situation. Yes I need to be aware of it and what we're doing but its not going to do me any favours to be all consumed by it...
Savings- When you get to read this I just want to say a MASSIVE thank-you to you for that post. I love everyone for theirs, and all the kinds words I've had from everyone, but im sure they'll all understand when I say, it was yours that has given me more strength, so much so that I've printed it off and stuck it in my book where I write random things....and Ive added a little something to my siggy
