Thanks Star. I appreciate you sharing your story. DH and I thought about moving up North before, around June last year, DH was applying for fire service up there, I was gonna have little one etc.... and then that all fell through...

I dont really know what i want at the moment, i just feel really lost.
I do love my job that Im in now im just not sure how long its sustainable emotionally and physically. I'm on my feet from 6am till 6:30pm, and it takes a lot emotionally. I love helping people and when you see the great changes people are experiencing under care its amazing, so I'd love to be able to continue that but I find sometimes its emotionally draining...
I cant ask my family for money, they've helped me enough as it is, and I still owe them money from before whichi am determined to pay back!!!

Now wheres this corner Im meant to be going round???

The corner is there, you just can't see it yet! I promise it is there though.

Whenever myself and OH feel a bit lost we sit down and do a person centred plan. I have done them with people with learning disabilities but I think they should be done with everyone.

    The link is: http://www.circlesnetwork.org.uk/what_is_person_centred_planning.htm#what%20is%20pcp

Bus basically we sit down and work out firstly where we want to be in a year (or each individual). Then you discuss your hopes and dreams and also your fears. Then you discuss the steps you need to undertake the fulfill this dream (doesn't have to be an extravagant dream) and you also write down who can help you to fulfill them.

I find it good to do it with a bit of graphics. We did it with OH when he was depressed in his last job and wanted to do music. I found the piece of paper last year and he had achieved his dream of studying music.

The next one we have to sit down and do is our hopes to move to Northern Spain. We don't want to move yet but will do once about 18 months before we want to go.

Hope I haven't scared anyone with this. I find them excellent. I am 1/2 tempted to set up a business and offer them to Joe Public who are a bit lost in life. I have done the training in it so know what to do.

i know how you feel. as much as i would never want to move back as it holds too many "bad memories" for me now i soooooooo miss my lovely new kitchen (that someone else is now using and probably not treating it with the respect it deserves being as lovely as it is ) and DD's beautiful pink nursery (which now has a 16yr old boy in it :rotfl:)

At least I am not the only one. Sometimes I feel like I am never happy and there must be something wrong with me.

regarding your job. that is a lot of hours in a day to be on your feet. now i don't know your plans for the future and don't like assuming but could you work those hours if you got pregnant? like someone said before maybe you should look for something else with a higher wage (i know it's easy to say). that way you could pay off your debts and have a bit of a cushion should you decide to have a family in the future.

I am working on a project at the moment trying to make information accessible for people with additional support needs.

What about you, what do you do?

I love person centred plans.I think they are brilliant and such a powerful tool.

your job sounds fab. i'm working back in dom care at the moment. only thing going when i was moved. am applying for other things at the moment though.

i agree with you on pcp's. i have a "to do before i'm 30" list then it sets goals for me in order to achieve everything on the list. it really helps keep my mind focused.

You're right. Although the care I receive there is great for pregnancy, I dont think I could physically manage the job.
Im quite ruled by my emotions as well  so perhaps not the best place for a hormonal woman :rotfl:

now you've got your dreams you need to work out how to achieve them. for example the diner. what can you do to get closer to the dream?? take a cookery course? attend a food hygiene course? set yourself little goals on the way to the big one and it won't seem so far away
