Anyone else had to give up their stardrops?
I was a real convert, loved it and found so many uses for that and my starclens
BUT
Since I started using it I've hardly had a day without itching, flaking and cracked skin on my hands, even though I always wear rubber gloves. Crunch time came this morning, I'd used my Stardrops yesterday evening, rinsed my hands carefully afterwards (yes, I'd worn rubber gloves).
Then before bed, soaked my hands in warm water, applied loads of heavy duty hand cream and donned my little cotton gloves for the night.
Woke up this morning to find that the skin had cracked so badly on one knuckle it had bled through the glove and onto the sheet!
So that is that. No more stardrops for at least 3 months to see if my hands heal.
I vaguely remember something similar happening when I was a teenager and my Mother tried Stardrops, I think the same thing happened to her hands too.
I shall miss it thoughMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

My dd was going to throw away 2 pairs of very grubby trainers last week because nobody could face cleaning them. I took a bowl of warm water, as scrubbing brush and some stardrops out the back and gave them a good clean. Did a wonderful job and she is wearing them again-saved me buying new ones(I refused).Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0

Not good Racy
Hope that your hands heal real soon
I'm the opposite spray cleaners and the big brand cream cleaners contain something which irritates (sp?) my throat, bleach ones do something to my eyes, and i am forever telling people not to spray polish or air freshener in the room when i'm in it
Stardrops is the only one that i can use without having these problems, so am lucky that it will clean everything,Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0 -

i used stardrops for the first time last week and my hands also went dry and cracked but so far with rubber gloves they're fine and can i just say wow how did i cope without stardrops, my sink is shiny, my windows are sparkling and no horrid bleach smell in the kitchen.
When my mum saw my sink she was so amazed that she's also bought some.
Woohoo for stardrops :T :T

My battered laminate looks almost clean after a stardrops go-over (it's been filthy with trodden in dirt for months now), one more go and it'll actually be CLEAN. The lino tiles in the kitchen bit came up like new!
I have to be careful as I can get contact dermatitis from some types of cleaners and even plastic supermarket carrybags. No probs with stardrops as long as I use gloves - finding gloves I wasn't allergic to was a whole trial in itself. I now use the really thick 'true blues' from Lakeland. If using washing up gloves I look for the hypoallergenic ones. You might also be reacting to the gloves. You can even get latex & non-latex disposables now so it might be worth shopping around. If you think reality makes sense, you're just not paying attention!0 -
When i 1st saw the thread about stardrops i thought everyone was talking about sweets
I went into wilkinsons today and brought a bottle for about 57p (wow thats cheap for a all round cleaner!)
Had a bath 2nite and then used the stardrops to clean the bath, sink, bog and most of the walls (to much cola me thinks).
I just put some in the sink/bath with warm water and wiped every thing down.
Everything came up really clean and shiny and am very very happy
Just wanted to ask as ive read a lot of the pages about stardrops and have seen that people mix it with water in a spray bottle (will ave to get one of these)...is that the way people use it to clean the windows?...mine are really not nice as my tubby kitten keeps clawing up them to get out lol .. little git...and my 6yr old thought it was funny to wipe her muddy hands down the outside
Want to clean my windows and couch and well..everything this weekend (yes i have no life) so any advice is greatly welcomed
Plus its my daughters 7th birthday party on the 25th so want to get everything sparkling so the other mums get jealous..hehe joke..but i do want the house to look nice and clean.Recently moved to South Wales
