I got a bottle today in Sains....had to look carefully. Was on the top shelf. Never seen starpine. Does anyone know where to get it in Ipswich?

    Whats soapnuts?
Soap-nuts are a kernel shipped over from the far east which contains a natural soap which can be used in a washing machine instead of powder or liquid.

There is a thread on them on here i think

  • I know someone has propably answered this somewhere - but what is the definitive list of Stardrops functions from your opinion? Not just what is on the bottle....

Then I can start using it properly!

Another convert to the cause here, I've just bought my first bottle of Stardrops in Morrisons for 75p :j

I have some really horrible mould growing around the rim of the bath behind the taps - do you think Stardrops will work on this? If so, how best to use? I have also got some bleach and bicarb which I was going to try but after reading all about Stardrops, I may try that first.

Can't wait to get cleaning now :p

Stardrops will clean your bath, but not get rid of mould. You need to use something like bleach which will kill the mould, then keep the bath clean with the stardrops so the mould doesn't build up so fast. The best thing is to make sure you always dry the bathroom down (with one of the towels) once you have had a bath - then put the towel in the wash, of course! ;-)

I started with about an inch or so in the spray bottle I had (around 1/5) but it proved a bit too strong when I breathed in the mist (not recommended to do of course, but sometimes it just drifts past!) So I've cut down to a fiar bit less now - around 1/10 to 9/10 water. I cleaned the whole kitchen a few weeks ago and someone did remark about how good it looked. It does struggle with some stubborn stains so I use a small amount neat with a non-scratch silver scourer pad. Overall, I think a little more 'elbow grease' is needed but not much, and balance that with only using 1 or 2 products instand of about 10, and probably 1/20th of the cost depending on how you use it. I've also had problems with some of the more expensive cleaning with skin irritation, but that doesn't seem to be a problem with Stardrops for me.

Basically, I'd use it a my main cleaning product, and if it doesn't do the job, use another more expensive one sparingly afterwards.

The only non-stardrops product I'm sticking with so far is the big tubes of foam spray cleaner for the bathroom, but even there, I wait for offers or buy own-brand versions.
