Stardrops will clean your bath, but not get rid of mould. You need to use something like bleach which will kill the mould, then keep the bath clean with the stardrops so the mould doesn't build up so fast. The best thing is to make sure you always dry the bathroom down (with one of the towels) once you have had a bath - then put the towel in the wash, of course! ;-)

A big thank you to Chipps from me. I used a mixture of bleach and bicarb yesterday on the mould and it is now sparkling. I have tried to encourage OH to use a towel to mop up after himself as it is he that treats the bath like a swimming pool
Dealing with my debt and my weight :D

Debt now £30,100 (9.5% paid off)

    £2 coins saved and banked = £210
  • Just thought I'd add this.

DS1(12) came home from school yesterday looking like he'd been mud wrestling. Apparently he'd been playing football at lunchtime and had slipped over. Trousers, shirt and tie all went into the WM, but what to do with the blazer?

Ignored it all night, but the mud didn't go away. :)

I used a clothes brush this morning to get rid of most of the dry mud and then a damp micro-fibre cloth with a drop of Stardrops on it. It came up clean as a whistle. I was most impressed :j The blazer is a (for want of a better word) 'crimplene' manmade fibre, so I suppose it's just woven plastic anyway.

I had visions of putting it in the WM and then trying to work out how to get it back into shape

    Anyhoo.... hope this helps someone.

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

Yesterday I got what looked like black ink? or something like it off a brand new cream carpet with stardrops without any problems at a house I was cleaning:j . I found some stardrops in my local Morrisons but they were on the bottom shelf which is why I hadn't noticed them before.

    It really is versatile stuff!:T

I used it neat the other day to clean my brass on the front door :D NOW we live on what could be considered a main road only we don't get buses unless there is a diversion, so it's constantly busy. I was fed up with getting my cleaning cloths COVERED in brasso trying to polish up the brass. The stardrops got it clean, if not sparkling and now it all blends in together rather than the newer stuff standing out like a sore thumb. Although if I want it to shine (like when we're going to be having visitors etc ;) ) then I'll still use the brasso...at least the stardrops doesn't leave white marks in the grain of the wood! :rotfl:

A coat of clear varnish on the brassware would cut the cleaning down.

I've just realised that I forgot the washing up liquid this week and I'm out. It says on my bottle of unopened Stardrops that you can wash up with it. Anyone tried it? Worried I'll get funny tasting mugs.

I'm using up all my cif (which I bulk bought) before I convert to stardrops like everyone else.

  • I search the shops for stardrops and eventually found it in a Wilkinson store(Bedminster Bristol) about 15 miles away. Got 2 bottles for now and my cousin got 2 bottles also as she said she trusts my recommendations as I always research products well. I told her about this site and that I found it on here-she isn't very pc literate so just trusts that if everyone on here says it's good-it must be! I cleaned off a mould mark on a wall and two grubby doors with good results. Paid 58p per bottle.

I didn't think of using it to remove mould marks... will have to try that out later when I've bleached the mould :D

Ok so today I gave in. Bought my first bottle of Stardrops. Only thing is now I have to convince the OH to try them as he does most of the cleaning!! :D Guess if I "forget" to buy the stuff he usually wants then he might just have to try them ;)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • dh picked me up some stardrops and a microfibre cloth from asda tonight, hate the cloth with a passion but only as i hate the feel!

well the stardrops are wonderful, i can see into my oven from the outside, we keep on top of it frequently but bought it second hand and have never been able to see inside, had assumed in the end we werent meant to as nothing we did made a difference, including the really lethal oven cleaners. after a soak and a scrub with stardrops we can see in! its not perfect but i think over time well be able to get it gorgeous :D

have cleaned the front of the fridge, tumble drier, cupboards, soda stream concentrate that had spilled, the kettle which again we havent been able to get clean, and the slow cooker, my kitchen is now sparkling!

i think im an official convert and even better so is dh :j
