  • I live near High Wycombe in Bucks, and motivated by this thread set out to find Stardrops. None in ASDA, Sainsburys (of course none in Waitrose) and I was beginning to think that this is an imaginary product that everyone is playing a game about - and it might have been just a bit funny - till in the end I found it in Morrisons (formerly Safeway) in High Wycombe. Is it somehting that sells better in the North, or what ? It cost 75p and there was the one with ammonia there too. So today's my experiment day with it and a microcloth. Trouble is house very untidy and not completely clean so too many places to start !!
    well done in finding it

Most products seem to be most popular in their local locations eg Co-Op is big in Manchester, Stardrops in Yorkshire, Rover in Birmingham. Maybe its down to in the old days advertising budgets being more limited that the companies could only effectively advertise in the local press, radio and old itv regions.

I've read the last few pages of this thread and yiu have convinced me try and find , buy and use a bottle.

    Few questions though:
    - whar are microfibre cloths and whats so good about them ?
    - I read seomwhere that Stardrops shifted limescale off a shower door, has anyone tried it on mega mega mega limescale buildup in a toilet ?
    - do you use it n the toilet as from what I gather its not a disinfectant ?

Thanks! Very excited about buying it tonorrow in Asda hopefully :)

Stardrops is great - but not sure it would get super-scale off a toilet. Probably better to use a limescale remover like the harpic one, but then use stardrops to keep it clean & help prevent build-up of limescale afterwards.
That would be lots cheaper than using the more expensive harpic all the time.

If you're willing to put your hands down the loo I remember watching How Clean Is Your House and they cleaned a toilet with bad limescale. They just scrubbed it off with a pumice stone.

  • Has anyone tried the new pink floral Stardrops?

I am not sure if it has ammonia or not, it was next to the Star pine (or what ever the green one is called) in our local Wise Owl shop- they carry loads of Stardrops stuff! I was tempted to try it but I quite like the smell of original Stardrops.

    Any opinions?
