When we moved to Oz we had to give away all our left over cleaning products as we were not allowed to pack them in our container so now we are starting from scratch. I dont want to end up with multiple bottles of cleaning products all for different things so im thinking of getting my sis to post me some stardrops as I cant find it over here, but i have a couple of questions first :)

I really hate water marks on the shower glassdoor, can i mix a bottle of this stuff up to use as an everyday spray - if so, how much stardrops to water? Also can you just spray and leave or do you have to wipe too?

Ive read on here somewhere that it can make tiled floors a little sticky but this was only mentioned once, so does anyone else think this?

What kind of cleaning clothes do you use for everyday kind of cleaning, i.e. kitchen and bathroom?

I have some micro fibre clothes (havent tried them yet) but i didnt think you used a cleaning agent with them?

Im new to both mirco fibre and stardrops so please be gentle with me :)

    Thanks

I use about 1 inch in the bottom of a spray bottle and fill up with water. You do have to wipe aswell.

It won't leave tiled floors sticky if you use it sparingly. For the floor I just put a small squeeze in half a bucket of warm/hot water. It's sometimes tempting to add too much but you shouldn't need a lot.

I use microfibre cloths for everything... bathroom, kitchen, windows, doors and frames, walls... anything that can be wiped.

Plus if you wring the cloth out as hard a possible you can almost dry the surfaces when you finished.

Everyone talks about stardrops like it's a wonder product!! Personally I think it is :T Mainly because it's so versatile. I use it as washing up liquid if I run out, cleaned carpets with it and stains on clothes.
Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.

For limescale removal you need to use something acidic like vinegar, some people soak a sponge or paper towel in vinegar, tie it to the area needing cleaning and leave it overnight.

Stardrops is great for general cleaning though, and to the poster above it IS anti-bacterial, as all soaps and detergents are.

An old friend of mine had a bathroom tap which was jammed solid as a rock.

When the plumber came, he soaked a cloth in vinegar and just left it swathed around the tap.

The following day, the tap was moving smoothly. Another plumber could have assessed my friend needing a new tap, pipes etc, but this cheap initial treatment really paid off.

I use bamboo cloths for cleaning with soapy/ watery solutions as they are slightly rougher or tougher (but not scratchy), naturally anti-bacterial and very absorbent. I use microfibre cloths for dry polishing or if I use a trigger spray cleaning product.

Now I have a few questions! I am sure they have been answered elsewhere on the thread, but my pc is so slow at the the moment, its like back in the dial-up days, and although I have tried trawling through the thread it takes so long that I am feeling like throwing my pc out the window!:rotfl::mad:
    1) My stainless steel hob and splashback are minging dirty:embarasse. will stardrops work, and how will I use it? ie ration to water/in a spray bottle/with anything else added?
    2) my bathroom floor - again the ratio to water?
    3) general cleaning use - should I put it in a spray bottle? how much compared to water and should I add in some vinegar or soemthing too?

sorry for the daft questions - it would be fair to say that I am more of a domestic !!!!!! than a domestic goddess!

I picked up something called 'Oven Pride' in Tescos to use on my ceramic-topped stainless steel oven - it works great just as a daily cleaner (ie those times when I don't need Hob-brite), and seems to be very soap-based, and is also great on the stainless stell splashback & the oven surround. I'd certainly recommend it for stainless stell, and I see from the [ackaging it says it can be used on 'grills ands pans too'. Once you've got the stainless steel nice and clean, buff it up with a light wipe-over/wipe off off baby oil - works an absolute treat and makes anything stainless steel look lovely - use sparingly - a little goes a long way!
