    1) My stainless steel hob and splashback are minging dirty:embarasse. will stardrops work, and how will I use it? ie ration to water/in a spray bottle/with anything else added?
    2) my bathroom floor - again the ratio to water?
    3) general cleaning use - should I put it in a spray bottle? how much compared to water and should I add in some vinegar or soemthing too?

I use a spray bottle which I think holds about 750ml. I put a couple of cm of Stardrops in the bottom, add another couple of cm of vinegar, then top up (slowly! - it bubbles!) with water. Works on just about everything. You don't have to add the vinegar though.

You could spray the bathroom floor with that and mop/wipe, or you could squeeze a bit of Stardrops in a bucket and mop. I use about a three-second squirt of Stardrops in the bottom of a Vileda bucket.

It will work on your stainless steel, but you can buff it afterwards with a dry cloth to leave it really gleaming.

I've used Stardrops as my main cleaning product now for a couple of years. I've just returned from a week in a rented cottage which had Flash, Jif & a variety of 'Astonish' and 'Mr Muscle' cleaning products... I'm so glad I took a bottle of Stardrops with me. When, out of curiosity, I tried the products listed above I was disappointed with their cleaning effectiveness, economy and the overpowering perfumes used. The cottage was left at the end of the week much cleaner than it was at the start of the week! I left my bottle of Stardrops behind - hopefully someone might take the hint!

I tried to get some Stardrops today in Tesco and the only had spray bottles of Stardrops multi-surface cleaner which didn't I didn't think was the right stuff but I thought I would get a bottle and try it, looking on here I think I was right and it is the wrong stuff.

Anyhow I thought on the shelf it said £1 something but it has gone through at 84p for 750ml, I may have misread it, but it seems like a bargain, will have to test it out now! If anyone is wanting to get some could try there.

Would Wilkos be the best bet for the original stuff?
  • I remember my next door neighbour using Stardrops when I was a little girl :)
After reading some of this thread (don't think I can manage the whole 64 pages) I'm going to have to find some tomorrow :)

I love stardrops and was thrilled when tesco started to sell it.
    But...

I'm not sure its the same stuff..it looks more orange in colour, than the original, and, when i use it, it seems to have more bubbles and less 'oomph'!

Not so happy with the cleaning results now. Will go back to Sainsburys in search of the 'old style' stardrops, if they still exist.

I succumbed to Stardrops last week after reading all the comments in this thread. I absolutely love it. It works and it is cheap... what more can I ask for :j

I also bought Zoflora after a recommendation on this thread and now I'm kicking myself for not having tried it before!

I must have seen Zoflora (and Stardrops) a thousand times in the supermarket but I had always passed them by, preferring to waste money on branded alternatives

.... better late then never as they say... and it's Stardrops and Zoflora all the way for this girl now :T:T:T

I have a spray bottle in the kitchen which is small part stardrops and lots of water that i use for cleaning. Yesterday some wasps were in the kitchen and the first thing to hand was my spray bottle. A few squirts later and the wasps were no more. It was great, plus bonus was that it meant i had to clean that section of the window as well!
