Good luck to any Monday weighers.

  • Evening all!
Weigh in tmrw morning and I'm not looking forward to it one bit! I was showing a 2lb loss this week but today I have had 2 slices of pizza and a magnum! Thats on top of all my usual daily food. I've also had mcdonalds, kfc and a large chinese this week!! Im still off the crisps though!
Hopefully get a sts this week (Geez who am I kidding lol), but more realistically accept my gain and move on!
I'd let to make some commitments for this week to get me back on track :
1: Start posting my menus on here again (hope you all dont mind!) as it really helps me stick to them.
2: Make more of an effort with my water drinking, aim for at least 2L per day
3: Go back to what I was doing in week 1 & 2 ie 3 meals and a small evening snack

Thats my goals for this week, nothing too drastic, should be okay:D!

    x

Ps well done Dragon on your fantastic loss!

Hi all - I have either lost a pound or stayed the same this week, not 100% sure which because I can't remember what I weighed in at last Monday, how pathetic! Anyway, I do know that I have lost a total of 5lbs so far this month, I intend to really go for it this week to try to shift the next 2. Well done to the losers, have a great day xx

    Hello all

It's me again, I am going to try to post more often. I have sorted things out with OH (I hope) and am feeling more positive. Now all I need to do is control my eating and do more exercise!! I have been eating far too much and am feeling the effects. I have no idea how to get the willpower to change my bad habits but am going to try.

My current problem is that I simply cannot stop eating, snacking, grazing... it is getting ridiculous! :o I really need to be strict with myself. Does anyone have any tips for stopping themselves every time they really crave a packet of crisps/half a dozen biscuits?

I've tried to be organised today and brought some fruit and yogurt to work so that I don't snack on junk. Lunch will be HM soup and a slice of HM wheaten bread - no butter! I made such nice bread at the weekend that it doesn't need butter. So that's a start. It's just a matter of refusing all offers of sweets (I work with a bunch of very sweet-toothed people).

I will weigh in tomorrow morning and post it here. I know it's almost the end of June but hey!

How is everyone else getting on? Thanks again for all your kind words, you are lovely. :o I'm off to read through the thread. Here's to starting over xoxo

I meant to add: before living with OH, I used to eat more during the day than at dinner time i.e. I would have a decent breakfast and lunch and a light dinner. If I'd overeaten during the day, I'd make up for it by eating less in the evening. Now that we live together, I eat dinner with him most nights and he always wants a proper dinner. And I've been eating the same! Although I do make a smaller portion for me when I'm cooking, and ask him to do the same. But it's still more than I would normally eat for dinner. He is a good cook, but he doesn't worry about calories, so he'll make carbonara (tasty but NO VEG whatsoever), curries with coconut milk in, moussaka etc etc - all with the full fat ingredients! So I need to either (a) eat differently to him or (b) change my habits so that I eat less during the day as well and am ready for a substantial dinner when I get home. What do you reckon? Does anyone else have this dilemma?

i got into the habit of making myself and oh the same sized portions of things and they were always too big for me as he is a lot taller than me etc.
instead of starving him whilst i am dieting i started by adjusting portion sizes so he gets more than me. For example if he wants a curry on a friday night i will have the same but have half the portion size he has and no starter, Instead of a naan bread i will have a popadom.
sometimes we do have different meals but that is usually only if he is working late. if i have a weight watcher meal he has the same but whereas i would only have veg with it i would make him chips or similar to bulk it up a bit. also he has puddings like fruit and yoghurt after his evening meal and i tend not to.
i think these are just small changes but the obviously make a difference. he is going to the gym as often as me and maintaining his current weight and i am losing slowly but surely.
i think moderation is the key, having said that i do have the odd blowout and have a big meal but i definitly suffer for it later on!

It varies for me - if OH is working he tends to eat loads for lunch and then not want dinner, whereas atm he's unemployed and wants dinner every evening. I tend to want a 'proper dinner' too (I take a packup at lunchtime and use it to get my 5-a-day in - ie salad and fruit - so I can have 'nice' stuff in the evening). The only problem is when OH is cooking he has no concept of 'low fat' - ie he'll do a healthy, yummy veg stew but use a very large slug of oil to cook the onions - adding about 4/5 WW points to my portion! He eats healthily most of the time so doesn't need to watch his cals but I have a sweet tooth so do!
