I think that is all to do with traceability and using the phones to commit crime as you can get a prepaid phone without giving them your correct details and a prepaid card the same way, so doing this (not allowing prepaid cards) cuts down on the annonimity.0 -

Anyone can have a prepaid card, even an undischarged bankrupt, and it is not issued by RBS, but by AFL
From their website
http://www.mycashplus.co.uk/about-cashplusThe cashplus prepaid MasterCard is issued by APS Financial Ltd ("AFL") pursuant to license by MasterCard International====0 -

I tried it a few times, so did my OH, the card was blocked in the end, and it took weeks to get the £1's back on the card because Ocado hadn't completed the transaction they could complete the refund.
So they're great for normal transactions, but again, in places you can't use the Electron where pre-pproval is needed they're no better.
I use the cashplus mastercard for the last 2 years with Ocado and never had any problems with it!0 -

Gone slightly O/T regarding the Co-Op Visa Debit card but...
reference the pre-paid credit card, I have one with Paypal, and it was issued from RBS and they were one of my creditors, and I have had NO problems with this card.0 -

Similar story with me (RBS were one of my creditors and I got the card OK) but the card cannot be used at my local train station and is treated as an Electron card.0
