Co-op Cashminder Visa Debit Card

I haven't had any problems either but haven't treid it at the train station. In shops it is read as a master card so.....

Anyway anybody heard anything new from Co-op?

Iv had many a problem with the co-op card, not accepted at kwik fit and other places, even refused onced instore in tesco's. I wont bother getting a new card until I know the problems are resolved & it is accepted at tesco.com.

I do have the cashplus gold card that I have used most places, i transfer funds from co-op online banking to the card every month then use it in place of my debit card. I have never had a problem with the cashplus card, its accepted as a mastercard wherever I have used it.

I do thank the co-op for giving us BR's bank accounts and online banking, just need to sort out the electron now

Ive just applied for a co op acount and got accepted,he guy said i would get a visa debit card. I asked if it was a proper visa or electron and he said its a proper visa card.

Will let you all know when it arrives.

I'm sure we've heard that old chestnut before? I know let's take bets on what the first 4 numbers on the card will be um????????possibly 4508? or am I being a cynic? And why oh why has the co-op not told all their representatives the truth?

I have to admit i am playing a waiting game with it and waiting to see what happens. Surely it cant be a massive thing to sort for a bank so maybe they have it sorted?

Or they're taking their time because they know you'll be reticent to contact banks? Just give them a call, cover yourself just in case. The worst thing you can do financially is stick your head in the sand.

I called co op last week and had my electron card replaced to the visa debit card I have a cashminder account. The lady said I would have the correct Visa debit card.whatever that meant at the time.

On using my card to pay my montly balance at littlewoodsdirect when I entered the card it would show as a electron ( old card ) on confirmation now i've just used it and it says Visa card on confirmation.

Anyone else seen that there.

I bought flights online in May using my Electron card with no problems. However, when I rang today to add an infant (born at the end of June), I was told they don't accept Electron over the phone, although the customer service agent did try the card and it didn't work.

So.... I tried my shiny new Visa Debit card on my single personal account (joint account is still Electron) and it was accepted, even though the first 4 digits are 4508 as well. Might be a sign that things are changing?

Maybe they have sorted it without having to change the cards or get a new number i could never really work out why Visa could not just tick a box and it all happen proving you have the visa card and not the electron.
