Dear all posters in this great section of Moneysaving expert:money:
The great Nappycakes forum posters & makers, helpers and advisors!
    :A
I posted a little while back stating that i am going to be a nanny:j well my beautiful Kirsty my sons choosen love is now 16 weeks pregnant she will be having a scan when she is 18 weeks & 5 days,So I will know what she is going to reward me with a granddaughter or a grandson...Oh I am so very excited:j and literally still over the rainbow where I jumped so high when I found out the news of my future grandbaby:j
Money is very tight at the moment & my son is struggling a little with the happy but very unexpected news... But we all struggle from time to time i told him but he wants to present Kirsty with something for the baby,
So here my wonderful friends from MSE you come in he has decided he would like ones of these but is unable to decide out of the many nappycakes displayed by you all which to choose,He can't afford an expensive one but would like one that shows talent by its creator which they all do and look delightful in which they all do,Look value for money again which they all do....So how can he decide what to choose?:confused:sorry i am worse than him and just can't decide...
This one is for my son to give his love of his life .. so prefably plain white would this be hard?
3 tier maybe with a big ribbon in silver or gold maybe?
How much can someone do this for?:o
    Please help x
( as soon as i know the sex of the baby i will be putting in a few little orders myself)
The delightful news of this baby has filled me with such joy and given me a big lift out from sever depression,I am just over joyed I have never felt so good)!!:o
    sorry for going on.........

Could you not try and make one for him with the help of us all on here that way you would only be putting in it what he could afford to buy just a thought as that way you would save on the P&P as well

    Irishgirl62 - Your cake looks great...well done:T

Carmin - love the sock bouquet. I bought three large toys yesterday to do something similar.....can I ask how do u get the bouquet to stay on the toy......do you attach it?

Whitty999 ......I agree with Giggle....could you not make on yourself? It would be cheaper and more personal....you could just pick up little bits and pieces as you see them.

If I can make them anyone can;)
Just ask if you need help.

For anyone that makes the washcloth lollipops, my Tesco in Blackpool has packs of 8 feeding spoons reduced to 50p per pack. I've stocked up on loads!!! They are in the £1 boxes along the right hand side when you walk in. I get the washcloths from B&M or my local factory shop in packs of 6 for a £1.

Also in the Asda, they have a half price sale on the clothes. I bought some packs of baby girls short sleeved babygro's - packs of 7 for £2.50. They also had some hats, shoes, etc reduced which would be good in the cakes for those that use clothing. I stocked up on these too!

Still don't think I can post links but as soon as I can I ill post pics of my nappy cakes I have been making. I've found a local shop that has said they will sell them for me too so I'm quite excited! Thanks to everyone on this thread for inspiration.

  • For those that have started to get items by whole sale where do you get them from? are they just from costco or makro or actual baby products wholesalers? I was thinking of getting into selling bandana dry bibs. doing parties from home and at toddler groups like bodyshop and tupperware parties etc but i am having trouble finding a good wholesaler. Pm me if you would prefer the info to be kept off a public forum.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)
