they are fantastic prices! what is aec? Im spending a fortune on ribbon from hobbycraft, often adding around £2 per a cake just on ribbon. where does everyone else get their ribbon?Best wins in 2013 £200 and Mini iPad. 2014 no wins. 2015 2 nights 5* hotel with £300 vouchers plus £1150 Harrods gift card

And what is JTF?
But, yes, very good prices for things like pull bows and ribbon etc. Good wholesale prices.£11,000 in 2011
£800/£11,000

Hi Louby Lou Lou,
I get my teddies from the manufacturer and am planning on getting blankets through the UK distributer for them.
Regarding bandana bibs, there is a company "Bipi Stuff" that launched bandana bibs a couple of years ago. May be worth checking they don't have a design patent or copyright etc as they were a unique design when they launched them and haven't seen other companies copying so that may be why.0 -
Debsleypig - JTF is a wholesale company, like a cash and carry. You have to be a registered company to gain access or go with someone as a guest who has an account with them. I use them quite a bit.
Stokegal - The prices from JTF are they after VAT is added??
The spotted blankets are cheaper in the £ shop (poundland) as they are exactly the same! ....
Pullbows are also cheaper at JTF, and if you want plain ribbon then this can sometimes be picked up for as little as 27p+vat from JTF and there is normally loads of it.
Not sure what your flower toppers are? but they seem expensive if they are just the small fllowers, you can pick these up cheap on ebay even with postage costs.
Cello again is cheaper at JTF - £12 or so for 120 metresRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
rusty have just sent you a PM0
-
Thanks Rusty - all my prices from JTF are including VAT. I had already bought the stuff from AEC before I saw that the bows were cheaper at JTF (I think 20 bows worked out at £3.24 - They did have 30 small pull bows on sale for £2.13) They didn't have the cellophane at my local JTF and I couldn't find any ribbon - just my luck
The flowers are just normal tiny flowers (like the ones that you put on the top of the socks in sock cupcakes, I had a feeling that they were expensive when I bought them but hadn't seen any anywhere else, they end up working out at 3p/flower
I was going to the ££ shop but it was in another part of Stoke and I had DS with me who was fed of up of sitting in his buggy and various shopping trollies.
AEC is wholesalers too, they're quite picky about who they let join them, eg with JTF they use let anyone who self employed join them (when they first set up you just had to show an invoice with your name on to join, I think they're stricter now but with AEC as they are a wholesalers of cards, stationary and toys if you don't have a registered business in any of those sectors they don't let you join, so if you had a registered company as a caterer you couldn't join, my mate who owns a toy stall, and who will be showing my cakes has an account with them and she lets me use it - I think they have a scheme that the more you spend the more discount you get and I spend a fortune in there!!)
The only thing that I was shocked at was how expensive the socks were, they worked out at 50p/55p per pair. These push the price of Sock Cupcakes up considerably to what I was expecting. I'm off to Primark today to see if they are any cheaper in there.
I noticed that Huggies are included in the 2 for £18 sale at Asda and Tesco's are also selling them 2 for £18. As these have 102 in a box instead of 96/box compared to Pampers (It did use to be 104/box but those boxes seem to have been phased out - the only place I've seen them is on asda online, not even asda in store) has anyone had any bad feedback from using Huggies as I was thinking of bulk buying these as they would work out at 0.079p/nappy (I also get 10% discount as my mum works there and I live 100 meters from the local Tesco)
Sorry for all the questions and thank you so much for all your help, I just wish I help more but I don't have the knowledge yet - I feel like I'm taking so much from this thread and not putting much back into it. If anyone ever needs a question answering about my day job (I'm a trainee gas fitter - I know and I'm a girl:eek::eek:) I'd be happy to help..0 -

Can i just ask if you will be selling on your cupcakes or giving them to friends and family. As i have been making nappy cakes now for over 5 years and i have found many people that buy my stuff would not be happy with Primark clothes and socks. I must say i love Primark myself but its just not something i can use on my baby gifts its just a thought thats all hope you dont mind me saying but i know im not the only one that wont use there stuff i know some doI Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0 -
I agree with you giggle... i dont use primark stuff and I was in there yesterday and they are roughly the same price as asda and dunnes I tend to buy from dunnes.. i went into mothercare and nearly passed out at their prices not been in it for about 10 years!
The other thing is socks, I am struggling to find them i got some yesterday from tescosI am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:
