I re did my nappy cake and a hugh thank you to rustyflange for her tutorial:T I realised now that I had not enough nappies I orginally used 15 size 3 huggies nappies:eek: i have added more nappies and there is 30 in it now and it feels more solid therefore the blanket and towel went on like a dream and stays flat!

I will upload a piccy of the finished cake when my daughter returns with my camera I would have liked a bigger toy on top but as its a gift for my daughters friend I wanted to keep the cost down and used the £1 toy from asda for on top.
I am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:
Weight loss so far 2 stones 6lbs!! :j:j

Bellag - you're cake is beautiful!!

Well long time 'no see' everyone!! Have been having a play today as off to Spain on Saturday and have to take a cake with me for someone out there that has ordered a neutral cake for her daughter who is expecting a baby!! Have been having a bit of a nightmare with it tbh - I really do prefer to do blue or pink ones!! :D Anyway, think I'm sort of happy with it now - will do for now as have to dismantle it & re-bake it when I'm out there! Will make it neater somehow when I do it for real hopefully!! They wanted a neutral elephant cake as the couple its for don't know whether they're having a girl or a boy but are decorating the nursery with elephants!! Hope they're happy with it cos its the most I will have got for a cake! Does it look quite 'luxury' do you think? Going to get a bigger cake coard & have got some gold heart shaped foil wrapped chocolates to put around the edge!

Popkins - it is lovely and I am sure she will be delighted with it.

I am now beginning to get orders at last but I am now struggling BIG TIME to find nice blankets, bathrobes etc. There is just nothing locally that is different but within a decent price range.

Luckliy I am off to Florida at the end of the year and have been looking at all the shop over there for something different but until then I am stuck :(

Hi girls, I just got an email from a guy asking me if I could make a blue nappy cake for £20. My cakes range from £10 to £45 and I will custom make cakes to order. Do you think the contents are ok to make into a £20 cake?
Teddy, 1 pr socks, 1 vest, 1 blanket, 1 burp cloth, 1 bib, 24 nappies, brush & comb and rattle/teether?

    Hi Bellag,
The cake is absoloutely fab as usual! We don't have a Costco near us unfortunately so I have to amke do with the 2 for £18 which is annoying! How much do they do the Johnson's products at? It might be wortha trip to stock up! Nearest one is about 45 miles away.
Sorry to hear they're being a pain about your account with the toys. I didn't have any bother, I rang the rep and he sent me the catalogues then I rang the sales dept and they set up a pro-forma account for me. I think they said it had to be pro-forma for the first order but I've had a couple from them now and haven't bothered to ask them to change it. I've decided on the toys now. Paddington didn't go down well at all so actually selling them off on ebay instead! I'm going to be doing Jemima Puddleduck and pink Musical Miffy rabbits for the girls cakes, The naturally better Peter rabitt and Blue Musical Miffy for boys. Neutral is harder and the only thing I use at the mo is Nut Brown Hare. They are all gorgeous though and I'm sure you'll be impressed!

    Hi all :hello: :hello:

Right now I am SOO excited, have been practising with my little boys nappies and blankets and toys for the past couple of days but now I have got 3 orders for nappy cakes (granted they are from my mum, aunty and OH for a friend at work) but I am also due to be dropping a couple of examples off to my friends market stall who will be selling them for me, so I am compiling a list of things to buy

Nappies - 2 for £18 from Boots (extra 10% off if you are part of the parenting club and spend over £60 online so they work out at 0.084p/nappy compared to Asda's 2 for £18 offer which works out at 0.086p/nappy)

Cellophane - going to local wholesalers to find out prices

Pull Bows - going to local wholesalers to find out prices, but I purchased some for my DS Christening a couple of weeks ago and they were super cheap.

Ribbons - was going to go to a local haberdashery store (can't spell sorry) or can anyone suggest where they get theirs from

Cake Boards - going to price up at wholesalers v Supermarket, what size should I be looking at getting?

Blankets - going to look in supermarket, matalan and primark

Johnson products - are the pound stores the best place to find these? There is no costco near me but we do have a makro

I want to make the sock cupcakes but I'm struggling to get them to look right, does anyone have instructions of how to make them. Also I'm looking for the packaging for these, I really like the clear plastic ones (like that donuts come in) does anyone else use these

Nappy Pins to secure blankets - I have NO idea where to get these from

Teddies - going to look in supermarket, matalan and primark

Baby Socks / Bibs - going to look in supermarket, matalan and primark

I have already bought some baby teethers, baby booties

I know there is probably some glaringly obvious things that I've missed but I'm so excited that I've turned all scatty brained, can someone give me virtual slap so I can come back down to normal :D:D

Popkins, your cake is beautiful well worth the £50. I have the same blankets from Asda. Did you get them half price? They now have blue and pink ones on their website.

Irlrip – Lucky you, off to Florida! I bet the shopping there is great and really different to here.
Popkins – Sorry to hear you haven’t been well! I think the contents of your £20 cake sound just right.
