New Nappy Cake
Comments

Hi folks, I'm Niki and new to this forum
I've just about finished my first attempt at a nappy cake as a gift for a friend. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed making it and how well it has turned out so I was thinking about making more and selling them etc. I stumbled across this forum whilst searching the internet and thought fab, it's exactly what I was looking for. I'll take a photo of my first cake and try and post it in the next couple of days and you can tell me what you think lol! I was inspired when I received a cake from a friend when my second son was born 6 months ago. I hadnt seen anything like and thought it was a really great gift. Look forward to chatting to all, niki x

Yippee ........ I managed to upload my first photo...... this was a 3 tier Twins cake that I did earlier this year....... took 55 nappy's to make this one and it was around 2 feet tall.... local delivery so thankfully I didn't have to post it....0 -
That is amazing. Can't believe you managed to do that for 30 pounds! Is there any profit in that for you?
Nuninge
Yes, I made around £14 profit as I managed to get a lot of things on special offers that usually cost more. I think she got a good deal though because I kept adding extra things, I got a bit carried away but I've been told this evening that the lady who was buying it for the present for her friend loves it. It did take me a long time to make though as it was very fiddly matching up the pink with the blue things and the bow was a nightmare to make!!0 -
Janey, I love your cake. Been on your website, and I love them all!0

Janey21, Gorgeous cake! I love the colour and the Teddies.
I have never made a "twins" cake but am dying to have a go. I might think about making one up in the hope I can sell it.0 -

Hiya i am new too, i haven't made a nappy cake as yet but i would like to do the same as you when i have the time! I have 4 children and they keep me very busy. How did you learn to make them? I have attempted some cupcakes which look lovely and some flannel cakes for pressies.
Actually to everyone else i have found a lady doing nappy cakes for local sale in my area and when the time comes that i do get stuck into making some i would like to sell them too. Does anyone else do this when there is 'competition' locally? I would hate to think i'd be treading on toes but i have searched for ages for something i could enjoy making and selling and i know this is the thing i want to do. I was actually going to do real cakes but like the idea of this more!
Thanks for all the helpful posts x0 -
