Has this worked, trying to upload from photo bucket, but cant seem to get it to work???
When you hover your mouse over pic, you want IMG or IMG thumbnail. Click on it and for a second it will say "copied".
Then go over to your post on MSE and right click "paste".
A load of letters will come up and when you post your pic will appear.
Just remembered - as a newcomer you are not allowed to post pics untill you have made so many posts. Don't know what the numbers are but you may as well try it anyway!
Go advanced with your post first if you want to check it has worked.0 -
Hurray I did it!! Any comments??0 -
I think I need to have professional photographs taken, as I cant get the lighting right - or the creases out the sheet!!!0

Hello everyone,
I have been watching a few more clips on youtube of how to make nappy cakes and I saw one where the guy rolled and secured each of the nappies with elastic bands and then when he had them all secured within the big elastic band,he took all the individual nappy ones off. I've tries this today and the cake doesn't feel quite as tight but still feels tight enough. I did this because it means that I can recycle the elastic bands to use on future projects again and also depending on how long the nappy cake is made before the recipient uses it, I worry that the individual nappies may get damaged by the elastic bands. Finally I remember reading on here about someone who made a nappy cake and then decided to re-wrap it and found that when they opened the old cellophane there was a sort of peppery smell and although I don't remember reading any responses to this, I worry myself that the elastic bands may sort of damage the crystals that are in the nappies that soak up the wetness (do they work like that?). I was just wondering whether there are others that do this same method or whether everyone uses an elastic band for each nappy? Thanks,

Hi Nuninge
I use the tiny clear elastic hair bands and I construct my bottom tier around a cardboard inner tube which I have made for me, makes it much easier and gives you a space in the middle to fill with either more nappys or other goodies, I don't use as many nappys this way, I haven't come across any damage to the nappys using the elastic bands in fact I would imagine the elastic bands themselves would perish first but I may be wrong, others may be able to help on that one.
I prefer a rubber band on each nappy, keeps the whole cake together firmly and because I make my cakes to order I try not to have too many made up.... hope that helps.

Hi
Does anyone know if Primark has stopped doing the beautiful baby soft blankets in pink, blue and lemon?0 -
I don't use elastic bands at all on any of my cakes. I swirl my nappies i find this to be the best wayI Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It0
