New Nappy Cake

Can I ask if anyone has popped into a florist and asked just to buy cellophane ? I made a wee pink nappy pram only to find ds1 has used all my cellophane for a school project ! I can't find anywhere in Glasgow that sells it " on the high street "

ktflosspot, I only asked in one florist shop when I first started and they wouldn't sell me any. I ended up ordering a roll online.

I think some of the other girls on here have managed to buy some so just go in and ask (they will probably charge you more!) they can only say no.

I am just getting to the end of reading all the threads on here! I fancy having a go at these myself as i am currently practising making gifts for family would be great to do some baby ones too! I notice the towel cakes thread has become unused now, doesn't anyone make these anymore? Was wondering where best place to buy towels and washclothes(flannels) from would be.

Both florists in my town sell it for £1 per metre and they will even make a bow up for the top if wanted ...cannot remember what they charge for that though !

I didn't know there was a towel cakes thread but yes I still make them, I make 2 sizes in pamper cakes plus 2 tier and 3 tier wedding cakes, the mini pamper cakes are my best seller next to the nappy cakes, they make lovely gifts and I would encourage you to have a go at the nappy cakes, you will find a lot of help here on the forum board the girls are really helpful, I buy my towels etc wholesale as I find that although you can get them in the cheaper shops like Home Bargains/B & M etc the quality isn't so good, I buy the luxury 500gsm at 22p each plus vat similar ones in Sainsburys sell at around £1.50 each so that gives you some idea of the quality.

Thanks for the advice ladies x I managed to get some clear cellophane from millers ( just coz I needed it quick sharp ! ) Ordered a load on interweb & will hide it from DS in future lol x I'm 50/50 wether to put my piccy up or not but yours are all ace so you have to promise not to laugh ( well, not load enough for me to hear anyway ! ) Thanks again to all who helpped me & to everyone for their inspiration on this thread x You are all wee stars )
