Hi all, I saw this lovely forum the other day and was inspired to make my first ever nappy-cake. I did get carried away with buying things though! to those who sell and make a profit I'm impressed!

    Anyway mine had in it:

    4x baby girl tights
    1x hat
    1x jeans
    1x pink dress
    1x disney pink sleep suit
1 x winnie the pooh top and trousers
    and approximately 50? nappies

    and here's a picture :)

Sweetiepie Nappy Cakes - many thanks for the tip re putting the nappy details in with the cake - its just not something I would ever have thought of but I guess when you think about it it makes perfect sense - so many babies and children seem to be allergic to things these days!

Moonpenny - I know exactly what you mean about the different shades of pink - every manufacturer seems to make a slightly different colour. Like you, I went into a shop and bought a blanket which I thought would be an ideal match and when I got it home it didn't go at all - very annoying. Also huge thanks for the "lesson" on tube wrapping - I'll be giving it a go if I ever get an order.

Liz_uk - I am in east of England and have two or three Dunelm stores near me although have only found the blankets in one of them. Re websites - I've looked at some of the top ranking ones on Google and they do seem to be a mixture of either listed in colour or tiers - not really sure which I prefer if I'm honest.

Help! I am interested in having a stall at a local hand made fair but it states that I need to have stallholder public liability insurance. I was just wondering if one of you lovely ladies that do regular fairs can point me in the direction of where I can get this (cheaply of course!)

    Thanks

Irlrip - gorgeous cake! well done on another sale. :T:T:T

Was that one of the "double" blankets from Matalan or a "single one? I know they are expensive but, they are so gorgeous, I bought some cream ones and a pink one.

Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble with the Pinks?

I go and buy a pink blanket (to match up with stuff I have got to make up a cake) and when I get home it doesn't go. It's either a sort of "candy" pink or "peachy" pink and invariably it's the wrong shade.

It was the nine pound blanket from Matalan. The pink and blue go perfectly with the "Pooh" sets.

Sweetiepie Nappy Cakes - just been over to your website and your cakes are gorgeous.

Can I just ask - the two tier cakes you have photos of on your home page have the cutest teddy on the second tier - is that part of the muslin or is it an applique you have added?
