If I want to try and sell my cakes to a wider audience what would be the best way/s to do this? What are peoples experiences of doing a posters to display in shops/having a facebook paeg/website etc or any other tips you might be kind enough to offer? Thanks

I've only been making cakes for the last couple of months. Last week I went into local shops and managed to get a few posters put up which I have had one order from so far. My OHs Mum has put one up at her work and I've had an order from that and some possible future orders. I've made a Facebook page and had an order from that plus some possible orders for later in the year. Had another couple of orders from friends too.

I haven't got a website yet as I feel I am not at that stage yet, but am hoping to do some craft fairs later in the year.

Maybe I'll try the posters and facebook page and see how I go.I think I am just a little concerned about other people looking at the photos and copying them:-(
  • Hi everyone, I started reading this thread a while back and got pretty addicted to it. I've been interested in doing a nappy cake for a few months and have tried to research it quite a bit before having a go.

Well now I've got all the items I need, well nearly. I'm going to have a go today. I have done my 3 tiers at an earlier date, I just didn't get round to dressing it, as I didn't have everything I needed.

All I need to get now is ribbon and cellophane, to keep it clean etc until maybe someone want to buy it. I have a few people interested in the idea of it, so I'm hoping.

There is a wealth of advice on here, and it's been great reading all the posts! So thank you already.

I've read that some people had problems posting as a new user. Well as soon as I can post a picture I will do. Wish me luck.

    :)
  • Best of luck inca-gold...sounds like you have it all worked out for now.
I finished a sold a 2 Tier cake today so happy days. My next plan is to re do my homemade flyers and spruce them up a bit and get them out there. I have been ticking over but want to be a little bit busier. My hubbys friend said he would design a website for me free of charge but will need to sit downa and work out what I need and am definately going to do a facebook page and see how that goes!!! Just have to find the time now!!!!
  • I'm so interested in these cakes. I'm gonna make one for sure. Post the pictures of your cakes soon please.

Hi everyone, hope you are all busy making cakes!

Got this Towel from Asda a few weeks ago and thought it was a Rabbit! Am now not sure if it's a rabbit or a mouse.
    What does everyone think?

Silly question, I know, but I like to match my toys up where possible.

Yes, i agree it looks more like a mouse! :)
  • I bought the same towel from asda, also bought a lighter pink one that def has a rabbit on it so i would say it was a mouse!!
