New Nappy Cake

That sounds like a bargain. I don't think our Asda had any though. I don't go in there every week but I have never seen them in there.
They are definitely worth £40. I have seen cakes on the internet that are not as nice as yours for more money. Just had a look at your website too and I love all your cakes!
Just wish I had more room in my house so that I could have a nappy cake room so that I can keep making them! I am trying to build up a bit of stock as hoping to do some craft fairs, but can't go over the top as don't have the space.0 -
Hello ladies, been a long time posting for me although I do cast my eye over the thread now and again. Some lovely cakes being produced. I thought I'd share my latest two, don't think much has changed since I last posted but think I'm finally happy with these designs now. Think it's also me and the camera that are wonky rather than the cakes!

Absolutely gorgeous cakes Becs!!!!!!!
So neat!! Ive thought about putting all the clothing items on the inside rather than on the outside as it does look so neat!Debt Free Jan 2010!(Be happy) the state of your life is nothing more than the state of your mind! X:j0 -
Yes they are gorgeous cakes Becs and as Liz says, so neat!
Liz - I do like yours equally as much with the clothes outside. They are two totally different styles but both work in my opinion - all totally gorgeous!0 -
Becs stunning cakes xx0

Thank you. The only reason I do them like this is because I'm a bit OCD and like straight edges and symmetry and I couldn't handle putting things on the outside, not artistic enough! Also I don't have clothes in mine just toiletries.0

Some fabulous cakes here!!! I have been searching for peter rabbit and jemima puddleduck toys but they are so expensive or at least the postage is as well!!
A lady enquiring today was amazed that the cheapest cake I can make is around £20 (thinking it was v expensive as she wanted to but two cakes for twins)and that is really pushing my budget and making only a couple of pounds whereas other people are more than happy with prices ranging from£20 to £40 plus for my fairy tale castle cake.0 -
I just wondered if any of you have had any success selling at car boot sales? There is one just down the road from where I live every Sunday and it's only £6 a car so I am debating whether to give it a try or not with my cakes or whether to just wait and do craft fairs.0

With regard to car boot sales I make a very cheap one (sells for £8.50) specially for the car boots and they sell but when I have taken my usual ones they are too expensive. I also sell more usual car boot stuff alongside so I am not relying on them to cover costs.
My car boot one is literally £ shop stuff. 1 blanket, 1 bodysuit, booties, teddy and nappies. I have seen other people with more expensive ones but they seem to go home with as many as they arrive with.
It might be worth you trying but dont expect to sell many and I would only do it if yu have other stuff to sell. Car boots are not the best place for selling hand made things in my experience.0 -
Hiya all! These look amazing! I really would like to make one for my friend but only a 1/2 tier. Is there a certain guideline on how many nappies you need to do this? I am looking to do it as cheap as possible so I am assuming that I should shop in the £ stores/Aldi/B&M. Is this correct. I am looking through this thread as we speak but it may take some time being 238 pages
Keep up the good work! x
