Wow, you are all so talented. The pics I've seen are fantastic!

I know there are rules about selling on the boards but I want to buy a 3 tier cake. I've seen some on ebay but begrudge paying the postage. If anyone is in my area (North East), can you tell me where you sell your items.

    Thanks

Hi needahol, I've tried to send you a couple of messages as I live nearby in your area and maybe can help - but I keep getting the following:-

Hi everyone - some great cakes as usual! Sorry been AWOL again - Fibro been pretty bad lately! So much so that I've decided not to do that event I was gonna do - luckily I have been able to cancel the table without letting my friend down as they've actually got a 'reserve' list so PHEW!!

Anyway was just wondering if anyone's got tips or ideas for a babyshower? I'm in the process of organising one for a friend of mine and I've never actually been to one before let alone organised one? Any suggestions re: games/decorations etc or even websites that are good for those kind of things would be gratefully received - I don't have a lot of money to spend so may have to end up making most things myself - invites/games/decorations/gifts etc!

Just a quick question for all you experts...

How do you go about getting shops to sell these for you? We have a lovely little florists nearby that I'm thinking of approaching...but wondering if that's how you all did it? Or do I wait to be approached?

    TIA x

Tia, I took one of my cakes into a florist and asked them to wrap it for me, they normally start asking questions about them. Thats how I got mine in a florist they were really impressed and have sold some too!!

  • Hi Everyone!!

Just been catching up on the thread and everyones cakes! All looking good! (It's taking me some time to go through it!)

Well, I haven't been on here since March so I've got lots of catching up. My sister had a beautiful baby girl in March called Ruby whos kept us all busy! She had no idea of the cake I had made her and cried when she saw it!!

I've made quite a few cakes for other people in the meantime but thought I'd see if anyone could help with the next thing I want to make.

I'm after doing a Christening Nappy Cake for her which is in a few weeks to put on the Table.
Has anyone got any ideas of what I could put in this? Not sure if anyone has posted anything recently or made one but would love to try one.

If anyone has any ideas of what I could do it would be a great help!

    Thank you xx

I've just got back from Asda (forgot to get a cake board when I went last week) and a localish florist. I was able to buy some cellophane by the metre so got enough to wrap the cake and for a couple of other crafty things I'm doing. I got a teddy from town yesterday from Card Warehouse in the end.

Now I just need to put the ribbons round the cake, pop the teddy on and wrap it...eek! From reading on here it appears the tube method would be the best way to do this. I shall be back later for advice if I make a pigs ear of it (as my mum would say)! It needs to be ready for tomorrow night. On Monday I just didn't think I'd get the last bits together and get it made in time, and now it's just about finished :)

I'll get some pics on when it's done x

    Hi Poppy

I've made christening cakes before and managed to find some lovely little keepsake boxes for baby's First Tooth, First Haircut etc - or you could put in maybe a silver photo frame?

Or you can get some lovely little silver brush and comb sets?

Along with some baby toiletries or maybe a nice outfit, I think this would be lovely.

I like to use white in a christening cake, but each to their own.
