I saw some hooded towels with flannels in Asda today, I think they were £3.50, infact I am sure they were as that is my top limit for a blanket/towel as it is what Primark charge.

Hi all, I fell accross this thread a little while ago and made a nappy cake for a friend for her baby shower which turned out pretty well and she loved it so everyone was happy. I thoroughly enjoyed making it and so decided to jump in head first and see if I could make more and sell them, for fun and as a way to get me off my computer, am self employed and spend way to much time staring at a screen! Have found a local business who is going to stock them which is fab and am also getting into some school fayres to hopefully sell them as well. Looked at some craft fayres but decided it wasn't the right market, not sure if I am right but reading all the 'blurb' about local crafts people and the like I felt like a fraud!

Anyhow, was wondering if anyone has any tips about what to put in/on a neutral cake? Girl or boy ones I am fine with but neutral ones I keep getting completely stuck on! Also Christmas cakes. I have made two but they are both really basic - one is a christmas blanket, reindeer soft toy, reindeer cardboard book, magnetic photo snow globe, 15 nappies and a 1st christmas bib. The other is christmas blanket, christmas teddy, 20 nappies and a christmas snowman bib with removable reindeer and father christmas soft toys. Feel like I need to put more in but baby oil etc isn't 'Christmassy' and haven't been able to find any Christmas dummies or anything.

Hollie, what a lovely cake. Do you need to put anything in the hood piece to stiffen it. What contents do you have in it ?
