those are lovely mumoffour - really gorgeous!!! Oooh mean't to say yesterday for anyone wanting to do 'christmas' cakes the card factory had cute bears with 'romper' suits on with 'My first christmas' on the front - they had red, pink or blue and they were only £1.99!! HTH someone...

Mum of four they're gorgeous! I bet your fingers hurt after rolling all those nappies!
For anyone who rolls nappies I strongly urge you to try the swirling technique! I find it massively easy and so fast! and I think it looks much better as well as the nappies not being all scrunched up by the rolling. I made 3 x 3 tier cakes last night and covered the bottom layers with blankets, and the top 2 tiers in muslins and it took me less than an hour to do all 3. Just need to finish them off with the ribbons now!

Thanks for the tip Popkins about the teddies in card factory will have a look in there when I go shopping!
Mum of 4 they are brill cakes! I love the reindeer on the xmas cake!

I second you Becs on the swirling method! I did start out by rolling them it was only when I came to use a rolled nappy for myself (I ran out so had to dismantle a cake :o) they are really difficult to use after being rolled. So as a parent myself I would prefer to receive a swirled nappy than a rolled one - lol!
I'm a fellow swirler now too! hehe

Just had some great news from the shop that is stocking my cakes, as you know I took them in on Sun and the shop was re-launched yesterday they sold one already! Yay! I am so pleased!
The lady had asked for an RRP on each cake so after I took 100% for myself I left her a 50% mark up but obviously it was up to her if she wanted a higher mark up and she sold a mini cake for £16! God knows how much she is asking for the 2 tier? But I'm happy I got my 100% :)

This is how I do it - don't know if this is how everyone does it though but it works for me :)
I start by laying the nappies out flat but overlapping in a long row of however many you want to add to the tier (this probably doesn't make any sense lol?!) then I start at one end and roll, keeping it all together in a roll as you go then secure with a band when you are finished!
HTH but I'm probably talking nonsense as usual :rotfl:
Have a go its much quicker than rolling and uses a lot less bands too!
