mumoffour- i also live in NI and have attempted to make these cakes like irishgirl i find local craft shops or sewing shops best for ribbons. Im not sure about thickest ribbons - flower shop might be best there??0

Well just been to the baby shop that is stocking my cakes and dropped them all off, she was really pleased with them and I have given her a wholesale price and an RRP for each cake this is what she requested. I have allowed her a 50% mark up on each item - do you think this is enough ladies?
The shop owner was really busy as it is re-launch day tomorrow and don't think she really had chance to examine the price list properly!
Just got to hope they sell now
What with all of these pamper cake orders I was really glad to empty some of the nappy cakes out of my living room it was beginning to look like a baby shop! lol!
The items seem to be breeding - blankets, socks etc everywhere our bedroom the living room, kids rooms lol! Hubby not best pleased but I as I keep telling him - every little helps (when I sell one
Anyone got any fairs coming up soon?
I have been so bust with all of these other orders I haven't really thought about fairs yet? But am considering asking the boys school for a table at the xmas fair?Proud mummy to 3 beautiful boys!0 -
i have a fair coming up - its my first - eeeek! panic is setting in - so far i have my carrier bags, leaflettes, cake stand, empty boxes to display stuff on, change, tissue for wrapping, sticky labels with web address etc on for sticking the tissue down, friend enlisted to help set up and get me coffee (v important job lol) i have someone to look after my kids and stock wise i have
2 x 3 tiers in each colour (pink, blue and neutral)
2 x 2 tiers in each colour
2 x 1 tier in each colour
3 boys bouquets
3 girls bouquets
36 sock monkeys
25 diy sock monkey kits (bits all out sewn in a pack with needle, thread, embroidery thread, buttons, needle and instructions on how to sew together)
i plan on making 2 motor bikes in each colour
2 prams in each colour
2 neutral bouquets
20 flannel reindeer
20 flannel bunnies
baby sock cupcakes approx 20 in each colour or whatever socks i have left
ladies sock cupcakes ( approx 25)
flannel cupcakes (not sure how many yet)
single sock and wash cloth roses
feeding bowls with vests and socks and mits in with baby cutlery
filled bottles if i have spare bottles
washcloth lollies
i also have a couple of those large brown berars from asda that were reduced to £2 that i'm planning on making mini bouquets for and attach like they are holding a posy of flowers
having never been before i have no idea if this is enough stuff i have just sat and rolled 9 lots of nappies and made bottom tiers, planning on rolling the rest for the cakes tonight and making a start to assembling them tomorrow.
do you think this is enough stuff, did think about doing the joke toilet rolls and dammit dolls but i just dont think im going to have time for it all but if i di i will give them a go. the fair is 2 weeks yesterday
any advice for me on something i haven't considered or overlooked. i plan on diaplaying 1 of each cake and keeping the rest under the table so it doesn't look too cluttered, they know i am plannin on taking baby stuff and sock monkeys and the lady has said that its the busiest fair that they do, although i live in a small town i'm not too sure how busy its really going to be arrrrggggghhhhh.....0 -

just the same as the reindeers but without the pipecleaners and bells - ive bought pink and blue facecloths and i have loadsof washcloths as i went a bit mad in poundland the last time i saw them in stock lol
i bought 400 sheets of white tissue paper from costco, i use it in my bouquets and was going to shed some for putting into the boxes to keep the sock cupcakes from moving about too much so i just thought that if anyone wanted something wrapped i would use it as i have loads and instead of sellotape-ing it all i printe out small address labels with my websites (one for nappy cakes and one for sock monkeys) so that they have my web address and they can see pics of other stuff I have. I only just made the sites this week in a hurry so i could get the addresses and know what to put on the labels. now i'm wondering if i should print out labels to attach to my monkeys it seems to be a never ending list of stuff to do - best kept busy tho as my brother left today for a life down under and if i sit too long the tears start flowing0 -

wow......what a day!!
I didnt get half the stuff i needed, but enough to get me started IYSWIM!
I spent a fortune:D
Went to Dunnes in Bow St Mall and they had some good offers on bibs and bootee sets also went into poundland and it was also good.... Primark had a nice wee hooded towel set and scratch mits........
Went to Dunelm in belfast and bought ribbon.....it was SO expensive....also bought some crochet hooks for my mums christmas gift...... Called into smyths toyshop and came out empty handed (even though I had the 4 shorties with me:D)
Called into forestside on the way home and Dunnes there had Loads of reduced baby goodies (I was just looking) I spent £20...... Then into boots i went and got a few wee bits and bobs (soap and glory stuff for sisters hampers) and then called into next but the staff were rushing around (it was 5.15 i suppose they were looking to get tidied up before closing) then into Sainsburys, and got ONE teddy bear that was reduced to £1.49.......all the rest of the toys were hard and not really what my neices and nephews were into!!
Home now but it was such a busy day.......im looking forward until the kids ALL go back to school on wednesday!! And I can get crafting:D:jIm going to be frugal:j:DIm going to be frugal:D;)Im going to be frugal;)Beetlejuice Beetlejuice...................:rotfl:0 -
