Good Luck with the shop Carlymummy!
mumoffour-how do you do it all!!!
Angelkay- I just did a fair on Saturday in a small local village...did really well on all the little bits (snowman poop, soup, flannel reindeer, pints of socks, ladies sock cupcakes, flannel cupcakes) also quite a few packs of baby sock cupcakes. People do not seem to buy the nappy cakes around here on the day but gave out loads of cards so here's hoping. Take loads of pick up lines stocking fillers at under £5. bumps up your sales no end. I have another 8 fairs before Christmas so hoping they all go as well. Good luck with yours...let us know how it goes.0 -
Aweee, Angelkay, sorry to hear that about your brother, you must miss him terribly.

xjust the same as the reindeers but without the pipecleaners and bells - ive bought pink and blue facecloths and i have loadsof washcloths as i went a bit mad in poundland the last time i saw them in stock lol
i bought 400 sheets of white tissue paper from costco, i use it in my bouquets and was going to shed some for putting into the boxes to keep the sock cupcakes from moving about too much so i just thought that if anyone wanted something wrapped i would use it as i have loads and instead of sellotape-ing it all i printe out small address labels with my websites (one for nappy cakes and one for sock monkeys) so that they have my web address and they can see pics of other stuff I have. I only just made the sites this week in a hurry so i could get the addresses and know what to put on the labels. now i'm wondering if i should print out labels to attach to my monkeys it seems to be a never ending list of stuff to do - best kept busy tho as my brother left today for a life down under and if i sit too long the tears start flowing0 -
WooHoo.....I got cake boards from Asda:D
Also got 5 largish teddy bears for £2.00 each!!

Going tomorrow to see if the sale is still on in heatons!!
(didnt have time this morning!)

Made a 'neutral' Winnie the Pooh cake for an order - the person who ordered it loved it so just hope the recipient does too!!! Used yellow/gold cellaphane for the first time as had run out of normal cellaphane & it was the only one I could find in the shop!! think it worked though!! hope so!!
Contents: 12 x size 1 Huggies nappies, 20 x size3 huggies, WTP cuddle robe towel, 5 piece WTP clothing set - vest, babygro, hat, mitts, bib, WTP brush/comb set, 2 pairs of socks 2 bibs, 1 feeding cloth, Water filled teether, WTP 9oz wide neck bottle, 2 WTP dummies, J&J baby shampoo, cotton wool balls, WTP Comforter/soft toy

Popkins the WTP is gorgeous!!! I would have loved it when I had my children I bet that the parents will be really impressed and love it! You are so talented!
I love the cello too it finishes it off lovely. It looks jam packed with goodies can I ask how much you sold it for - don't worry if you don't want to sayI think you could easily have got £60+ for such a lovely large cake!!!
Proud mummy to 3 beautiful boys!0 -

Thanks Carlymummy!!! Wasn't sure about the cello so glad you think it looked good!!
:j:j:j
I'm so excited - the person that bought it just phoned me up and said that someone in his office wants one the same to give to his wife who is expecting their baby in December!!! woop woop!!:D very exciting although some of the bits might be tricky to get again for such a good price as I bought them in sales ages ago!! - will just have to try and find 'similar' items!
Don't mind you asking about price one bit - I sold it for £50 and the new order for another WTP cake is also for £50!! He's also said that if I send him some of my business cards / leaflets he'll put them out in the office and I might get some more orders that way!!
Its funny cos when I saw his number come up I started freaking that they didn't like it & he was gonna say it wasn't worth £50 or somthing!! LOL!! still can't quite believe people want to pay money for the things I make LOL! And then I was a bit shocked when I realised he was ringing to order ANOTHER one LOL!!0 -
ive just opened some newer boxes of nappies and they are awful!! why oh why did huggies change their lovely plain nappies for these hideous new designs? theres different coloured spots all over them and on my daughters size 5's they have a huge wtp character on the font, size 3's have mini characters and when rolled you can still see the spots which give the cake a pinky/peachy hue not good when you are bakin boys or neutral cakes urgh!!! 7
and why did they not advertise their new design on the boxes? i've had to turn my previously made girls cakes into boys cakes so i can use the white/older huggies and now use these new ones to make girlie cakes or hide the ew designs in the middle
ANYWAY lol
my friend called today the craft fair that she was organising for the 5th dec has been changed to the 28th nov and thats when i will be in spain. loads of folk have been told i'm going and are apparently looking forward to seeing my stuff as its something different from the norm, she has said that she would set it all up for me take orders and sell stuff all i have to do is give her my stock, leaflettes bags etc along with prices and she will do the rest, i'm not too sure this is a good idea. as she also said that if she was called away she would get someone else to look after the stall. it was going to be at the school so fantastic chance to target folk with kids/babies or friends with babies but i'm not too sure about letting someone else run it and would she be able to answer any questions from folk about the cakes etc. what would you do?0 -
fab cake carlymummy and brilliant news on the other order - do you use silver plates for your cake to sit on? i use them as they work out loads cheaper than boards and still support the cake, when i used boards folk commented that they would never use them and a couple friends even offered to send me them back,0
