Where is everyone getting their cake boards from and how much are you paying? Asda's are now 66p and I would like to cut down on costs. I found some in Makro yesterday but they were 12" and I have been using 10". I suppose I could just make my bottom layer a bit bigger!!!

Nice idea irlip but how much cheaper are they cos if you make the bottom layer bigger won't you be using more nappies so it might not work out much cheaper?

I have had another great craft fair today! And really excited as have had my first website order!! woohoo

    Need some help please ladies!
My cousin is getting married on the 28th Nov so not long to get sorted but I really want to make them a towel cake, I am struggling though to get a topper - I would love to get one that is themed he is a policeman you see. Any ideas where I could get some reasonably priced - moneys a bit tight at the mo :)
If you could direct me to the right place if you see anything I would be really grateful
    Thanks in advance

    Lovely cake Irlip!

Carlymummy what about making a topper? You could model a policeman bridegroom and bride out of filo modelling clay (think it's filo or am I confused with pastry!)

Edited to say sorry forgot to say your cake looks lovely too Gemma!

Also I remeber somewhere was it Popkins (?) that used some lovely personalised ribbon on her wedding towel cake - I would be really grateful for the link

There are quite a few ideas on ebay, just type in 'policeman bear'.

What about using clipart ...... maybe using a square/roundish box as the topper and covering with pictures??

I was previously asked to make up a cake with a cowboy theme, the clipart was a very cheap option, and the recipient loved it
