Irlrip, Matalan have Pale Pink Blankets for £3 with just the outline of a mouse embroidered on, could you fold that inside?
The cake boards are not a patch on the Asda thicker ones but they do the job just fine.
Same here! about teddies! I want good quality ones for Luxery cakes but not really expensive. Do you find that you are going up in price to when you started? I first had £3 as the cost of a toy but now it's looking more like £5.
The Teddies on Candi Gifts are nice (doesn't say what age they are for!) but I would like some nice quality "neutral" ones.0 -
I have done a candi gifts order and ordered a selection of teddies so will let you all know what they are like quality wise and what age they are suitable from - I'm hoping it will turn up tomorrow!
Haven't seen any white blankets but B&M had some white shawls in for £1.99 HTH someoneProud mummy to 3 beautiful boys!0 -

Thanks for this great thread, you cakes are all fantastic - I'm rubbish at this kind of thing but my niece is going to have a baby in a couple of weeks so I'm going to take the plunge and give one a try - might be back to this thread for help though!0

Hello,
long time no posting!
I did my Me, Baby and Toddler show on saturday....was knackered when I got home. Unfortunatley the foot fall was rubbish :mad:but even so I managed a lot more than the Jewelry lady who normally rakes it in!:j Sold the only 2 Pamper Hampers I took...1 was for a wedding hen night, the other a birthday gift.
I am doing an NCT CHristmas fair in the next month ...cannot remember exaclty when. Oh well... see how the rest goes.
I have not been shopping in the last fortnight as I have zero money ..still none! so will have to wait till after Xmas to get anything else I think unless I totally run out of cakes!0 -
Hi Folks
Can someone tell me please how they get the bottles to "stand" when they make spa cakes. I would've thought they'd fall over as soon as the cake is moved? I know some people put them inside the folds of the cake, but I've seen just standing at the side of the tiers?
Oh and here's a piccy of the Halloween cake I did previously, now that the lights have arrived at last! lol0 -
after getting some real bargins in Asda today- I've spent tonight making these.

Right heres a challenge!
One of the girls in work is due any day now so me and one of the other girls want to go together to do a nappy cake.
She is a die hard Plymouth Argyle fan where as her hubbie is a die hard Crystal Palace fan. Unfortunately Palace has a shocking selection of clothes, so I thought I could get a teddy of each team to put on the cake?
Want to try and include both teams colours though, but not sure how!!

SallyUK, Wow!!! Fantastic Cake! Afraid I can't help with "standing" bottles - have never made a towel cake.
AsheysPebbles - Lovely cakes! Am not very good with prices - find it hard enough sorting my own! LOL. You should always add the real cost of items and not what you paid sale price. That way, if you have to repeat similar cakes, then you won't be out of pocket.
Can I ask where you got your Lion from? He looks like the Asda ones they had last year. Have they got some more in?0 -
thats what id done-i realised that, trying to explain why x cake is so much cheaper than y cake when contain same stuff could get tricky.sorry if it wasnt clear.
and the lion is pound world- or maybe the poundstore- the green and yellow one! they had that lion, a yellower lion and an ellie holding a flower aswell as penguins and reindeer.0
