Irlrip, I get my cake boards from www.bagnboxman.co.uk (accessories section) but, they are only the cut edge ones which are a bit more "bendy" than the Asda thicker ones.
Still, I use 12 inch and my cakes are quite heavy and have no problem with them. The only thing to watch out for is, they are quite cheap but then vat plus delivery on top bumps it up. I have been thinking of going down to 10 inch as I can't find boxes big enough for 12inch (if ever I post any!)

Are you still having trouble finding blankets? I have looked everywhere and selection is poor or they are really expensive. No white ones anywhere!

Am also having problems finding nice teddies under a fiver.

Giggle - Well Done! on your sales at the fair.

i was at thainstone beside aberdeen today (local car boot sale with market stalls) there was a different lady doing nappy cakes than is normally there, i think she might be on here as she had ladies sock cupcakes, the cups filled with flannels, flannel swiss rolls etc and her nappy cakes looked loads better than the other lady that used to sell there. so if you were there then 'hi' and your cupcakes looked lovely today - i especially liked the cupcake tree stand thingy you were using.

I have soo much to do for my first craft fair i really really need to get move on. I have a couple orders to make tonight so while i'm making them i will make a couple extra for the fair - has anyone seen any reasonably priced christmas bibs? i picked up some chritsmas teddies in £land and wanted to make a couple christmas themed baby cakes but so far haven't seen any christmas bibs

giggle thats fab news that your fair went soo well

lrlrip have you tried primark's blankets? - they are sooo soft and were £3 each the last time i bought some.

Have you tried candigifts.co.uk for teddies??

Angelkay - the only Xmas Bibs I have seen at mo are Matalan - I think 3 for £2.50?
Primarks Blankets are nice but it was white ones for xmas that are thin on the ground.

Am curious (or just plain nosey!) about the cake stall at your fair! Didn't she have a name on the stall? Good Luck! on your first fair! - youve got more guts than me! LOL

debsleypig - will have a look now at Candi Gifts.

I saved a pic of a gorgeous teddy (with no title or anything) a couple of months ago and now can't find website. Does anyone know if it's possible to find a web address from a pic? looked at "History" as I have the date I saved but only goes back i week.

Thanks for that I have just priced the 10" ones and they are coming in at 42p each including vat & delivery for 50. I am paying 66p at Asda but I did get them for 20p a while back.

Still having problems with blankets :( and teddies :( I just want plain pale pin and blue, good quality but cheap ;)

  • Hi guys. I'm a bit of a lurker on here- I absolutely love the nappy cakes and might have to have a go at one myself!

I just wondered whether anyone had thought about selling them at National Childbirth Trust (NCT) sales? I only ask as I was at one last week, and I would have thought they would be a great place to sell these if you can get in to one. There were people at the one I went to seeling handmade cards and a few other crafty bits and pieces so I guess it is possible. These sales are really well attended (to the point of mayhem) and there are loads of pregnant ladies and grandparents to be there. Just a thought, but hopefully useful to someone!
