    Thank-you Irish girl!
i'm hooked now on this cake thing- i'm going to have a go at a birthday one for a friend's daughter who will be 8. I'm making a no-sew reversible fleece blanket, with maybe her name appliqued on it, for the bottom layer then popping a sock creature on the top with some brightly coloured candles- hopefully it will work

Donna your cake is fab! Don't worry about transporting, it will be fine. I don't secure my tiers together at all and they stand up to being chucked around by couriers! Others I frequently have to take into work so I just usually stick these in the footwell however when I do fayres every inch of the car is rammed with cakes, the cello will keep it all together.

HoneyD I just sit each tier on top of the other. WIth the towel cakes I just use bath towels on the bottom, hand towels on middle and flannels on the top. I usually bulk out the top tier with extra 2 flannels as it looks too skinny in comparison to the other tiers. You could get lots of pampering bits from boots or something. Things like mud masks or intensive conditioners etc that come in sachets and put them in the towels. If you wanted to bulk out the top tier with something other than flannels you could get one of those special turban towels for your hair. There are loads of girly bits you could put throughout the cake, nail varnish, toe seperators and othe rpedicure bits. The list is endless really!

Oh thanks! I didnt think of nail varnish and things like that! Have to be careful with hair products as she can only use Simple or her hair falls out really bad.
Ive composed a little list as I thought of stuff today and so far have: Bottle of something, a glass or two, candles, towels, face mask, soaps, shower gel (no bath), sprays, socks, book, chocolate, dvd, slippers. So Im getting some ideas so thankyou for those I can add them to the list now! Its given me more to think about!
I was thinking of getting a blanket and maybe a water bottle too since it is cold in her house lol so something to keep her warm. Dont have a big budget but will see what I can find. :D

I really want to make a unisex nappy cake for my friend and her husband who are due their first baby on christmas day. I will need to post it to them, so no doubt I'll have to find a big box and some polystyrene chips etc to protect it.

Can someone point me in the direction of some good instructions pleeeease??

Sorry to be bouncing this again but please can someone give me a link for the instructions as to how to make a nappy cake please

    thank you

OMG @ the harrods cake - personally I think the ones posted on here look much better!

Yes try youtube for some good instructions - they aer easy to follow and will give you an idea even if you do them slightly different!

I have just made a towel cake and a mini nappy cake - only about 10 nappies, a fleecy blanket, soft toy and nice pair of booties - Do you think £8 is a fair price? I just really wanted something aimed at people who don't want to spend a fortune/ too much. Did sell one last week at a craft fair so it can't be too bad.
