OMG already spent £98 out of my £!10 budget- its not June yet!!! Its all planned for the month though- batched cooked mince for 16 portions, got plenty of chicken in the freezer, and stock cupboard is full, so should be able to get away with a milk, bread and yogurt drive for three weeks, £12 to go!!!

    Hi everyone,
A shiny new month for most of you :). We are 15th to 14th (or thereabouts each month as hubby paid then and I work to his dates now as it is easier overall!), I have some money left in the 'household budget' (food, pets, diesel, sundries, small treats etc) but am hoping not to touch much of it and use the £80 I have brought back from our trip south to last until next pay day on 15/6. We will only need a bit of fresh F/V/milk/bread (although as I have now cleared a space under the stairs I might take advantage if I see any good offers on non-perishables lol!).
Hope everyone is feeling inspired for June, thanks MrsM, Pink (and anybody else) for getting the thread up and running.
I don't want to add my budget on the list as its a half month but will keep it in my sig!
    Take care everyone.
    xx
PS Nikki, this is exactly what I do....also a great way to get your 5 a day!
Great minds and all that :D.

I'd like to join in with this, I'm going for £90 for the month, for two adults. I'm going to try and stick to £20 per week, but with a £10 contingency fund just in case.

My month is going well at the moment, spent £20.10 in Aldi, £11.96 on laundry product online and £34.11 on bulk pasta etc order too. That leaves £133.83.

I have my menu plan already set up and have most of the ingredients barring fresh stuff already in freezer and cupboards. All I need to mess things up is DH or DSs to eat something I have earmarked for a meal e.g. a packet of sausages that were for a meal this week vanished today for breakfast grrr!
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

    Hello,
Can you put me down for £220 again please?

I really need to sort out a new signature!
  • Hi all,

Not a great start to the grocery challenge. Originally said £5 for house hold stuff. But today I've "invested" in some bits. Got a 5L bottle of lenor for £5 worked out i'll get 178 washes from it so will last the year! Also got 3 bottles of f*iry washing up liquid for £2. Bought a cheap one from Mr T and it's useless. Also got some cheaper washing liquid which should last a couple of months. SO have spent £11 today!

So I'll up my grocery budget by £10 to accomodate this. Would normally do a "big stockpile" shop next month. My new total is £100, if you don't mind to change it Pink?

    Thanks,
    LMMS

    Afternoon all,

A lovely sunny day here today, and I managed to cool down a bit by going to the supermarket to get some of the things I didn't get from my list yesterday. Trouble is, I'd underestimated how much space I have in the freezer, so can't fit everything in it at the moment. Will have to have a reshuffle and see if I can make better use of the space. I spent just over £11 and got loads. For any of you who eat muller yoghurts, they are 8 for £2 at sainsbugs at the moment! I don't usually buy them as they are quite expensive, but this worked out cheaper than their own ones.

Please could you add me to the list Mrs M as I don't think I made myself stand out in my last post - £100 for the month? Many thanks.

Off to update my signature now to encorporate the new spend.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Afternoon, another lovely sunny day here. Having a real money saving dilemma, got a Tesco til spit for £8 off a £50 spend. Normally I would use this to stockpile, but ,as some know, I am emmigrating in 10 weeks. Need to do a proper list of things we will eat before then that come to £50. Seems like £8 off is too good to miss. but if I go and buy full price bread etc then see whoops stuff in the coming weeks I'll cry :'(
Eat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.
