Hi all, can I join you? :j
Can you put me down for £140 for June please??
There's only two of us! Don't entirely know what we're doing...
... neither of us eats meat, no ready meals, no cake, we bake all our own bread, make all soup etc, don't buy shampoo (use baking soda and vinegar), don't buy soap (made enough to last the year!), or er, women's things (made those too - lol!).
I think it all goes on fruit (DH is a complete fruit fiend) and milk (we must get through about 15 pints a week - ridiculous).
I have £70 as my own budget for the month, and whatever we each buy, the other one pays half of (food wise, that is!), so it's about £140. However, I NEVER stick to it - until now that is!
No idea how you can spend that much on milk and fruit - guess I'll find out when I save all the receipts... :j
Good luck everyone!

Evening all
Well in the last two days i have managed to spend approx £20 :eek: on not very much, needed sawdust and bunny food, some bits for my nightshift, also NEEDED to buy x 2 bottles of wine, both on offer. 1 was a gift and one for me. although in my defence my wine will take me a week to drink. :rotfl:
Was hoping to do my big shop this afternoon, but was too busy enjoying the sun, will have to go after work tomorrow, so thinking not much of the budget will be left after that.
Hope everyone's been enjoying the weather.

Just thought I'd pop my head in the door! :hello:
I've not been following the grocery challenge threads for the last couple of months but I'm still plodding on with my yearly budget. I currently stand at £607.60/£1320 so far for 2009... A bit ahead of where I should be but my cupboards are absolutely heaving (in fact I had to clear another cupboard to put the overflow onto last week) and my freezer is absolutely rammed full!
I'm reporting for duty this month as I'm going to challenge myself to keep to £52.40 for June so I go into the 2nd half of the year on an even keel without any overspend to try and catch up on... famous last words ... Its definitely going to be tight as I've got a £5 off £30 spend Mr M sun voucher to use up in a couple of weeks time! :rotfl: There is an Aldi opening near me sometime this month too and I've never been in one before... :rotfl:
I have my food for this week already (although I may have to pop into Mr S for some of those 8 for £2 muller corners though:rolleyes: - I've been enjoying my 5 for £1 ones from Mr T but I only have a couple left now). The Mr S deal runs out on Tuesday so I'll stock up before then I think!
Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Well, not quite June yet and I've managed to spend £76 between yesterday and today.
Although Asda yesterday cost just under £60, I'm reducing it by £12 because I spent £8 on shorts for DS and £4 on disposable bbq. Yesterday we took a bbq to Loch Lomond so, apart from the cost of the disposable, we spent £2 on ribs, £2.50 on 4 Extra Special burgers, £2 on two lots of prepared pasta, £1.50 on ciabatta and £1 on 7 Up. So, all in all a lovely day, down by the watter for a tenner. Smashing
Today I stayed home in the fabulous sunshine and fell asleep on the trampolineWas weird cos I don't usually do sunbathing and stuff (find it boring) but I had a wee rest and was out for the count.
So am going to record my first spend as £64. My meal plan didn't go to plan last week but I didn't feel we floundered or order out so we must be doing something right eh.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Hello All,
I have hardly read the thread in the last few weeks, we have been so busy. But will try to keep up this month!
Mrs M, please put me down for £400 for June. This seems to be do-able for us.
I have just done a Tesco online order which will be just under £100 but will stock up the storecupboards for the month. Our finances are pretty dire at the moment, so I really need to focus on the moneysaving this month, before the onslaught of the summer holidays!
I am also finding that the lovely weather makes the meal planning a bit tricky. We have lots of salad coming from the garden now, and we are eating that with quiches, tortilla, mozzarella, feta etc, so meal planning has changed lots.
Wish everyone the best of luck for the new month.

Many thanks, BarneysMom, for the welcome! I like your idea of using the £5 sun voucher to spend on stashaway stuff. I'm going to use that idea and stock up on laundry detergent.
I'm doing my first June shop tomorrow so wondering how I'll get on.
Good luck everyone!

I would like to try again. Please can you put me down for £480 please. This is to include the weekly groceries and cleaning products but not takeaways (which we don't have often but I have promised my daughter a pizza this month).0

Hullo! Could you put me down for £200 for June (1st - 30th) pretty please  Am really going to try for much less, also have 3 x £10 MOC for T, so these will help!
Have a good month!!
Edited to add: This is for 2 adults, 3 children, cleaning stuffs, pet food, etc etc.0 -
My goodness, if this challenge has made me realise anything, it's how much bread and milk we buy! I tried my first bread making attempt yesterday andit went okay, but I think I need more practice to get them light and fluffy enough for rolls for lunch...
So, another lot of milk and bread for £2.08. Off to update sig now
I suppose though with a 6yo and not quite yet 2 yo in the house, plus sandwiches for lunch and after school snacks for them, I guess it's understandable...April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500
