Well quite pleased with myself today, went to see my sister and niece and went shopping in her town, and around the market, got a tenner from my dad as he put a flutter on the dog racing on my behalf which paid a few quid profit (thanks daddy!) . Didnt really spend anything though, got a box of reduced cream cakes at £1.15 for DH, cant stand them myself and some reduced snack sausage rolls for 89p, and some muffins for work lunches, spent just short of £4, but not out of my grocery money so doesnt count! Oh also got 2 jars of baby banana rice pudding from Superdrug, expires end of june and were 27p each so not bad, dd only starting weaning lately so she will have a bit probably, and will keep for 48 hrs in fridge so will get used. Dont expect to spend much next week went back to work last week off mat leave so no time to wander the stores!0

Hello everyone
Well I had declared on May but I've gone up now to £387. I had thought about putting this weeks silly spending onto June but I don't want to deflate myself before I get going.
So, with that in mind I'd like to give it a shot with £380 this month Mrs M please. I'm slightly panicky about it because my freezer's not looking to healthy. I really want to shop from a list of meals for a month. Am going to start tomorrow.
Good luck to all of you for June.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Well I am back after a couple of months of lurking only. £80 please. This is for myself and DS15 and 1 cat. Much, much lower than before as we are moving to Canada in 10 weeks and we must therefore eat everything i have so diligently stock piled for so long. Using things up and not replacing them is proving quite stressful, but it is walking past bargains and offers which is really stressing me out. I know having to bin food when we move would make me feel even worse but atm walking past stuff is a killer.
I figure if I am locked into a low amount on here that might help. Also on the store cupboard challenge trying to get the freezers emptiedEat food, not edible food-like items. Mostly plants.0 -
Hi
Could I confirm a target of £300 for June please, Mrs M.
Am starting off today with a visit to Mr T's but haven't got time to do a shopping list - have to leave to take OH to work in half an hour. So, will have to be very restrained and sensible with my shopping:rolleyes: no impulse buying.
Good luck with the challenge everyone!GC April 93.92/5000 -
Right I spent £24.98 yesterday and mostly things I can freezer and should see me through the month.
I'll be pleased if I stick to thisand I will be easier to take something out of the freezer in the morning before I go to work to cook when I get in. When I don't do this is my achillies heel so here we go this time.
4 pieces of fish fillets lightly coated with seeds
4 salmon fillets
8 pieces of southern fried chicken
8 beefburgers
Total £16

Right i'm really going to make an effort this time as we are out of control.
I have a freezer full of stuff and baking cupboard looks healthy enough so most of my budget will be on fresh stuff and packing up items (6 pack ups a day - 5 kids 1 adult - although littlest usually has his lunch in a lunchbox for when he finishes school at 12pm - he feels left out otherwise so effectively 7 lunchboxes..)
We buy a lot of fruit which bumps up the cost a lot but happily prices should get better now summer is here?
So i'll try again £400 for family of 8 - including a midweek holiday from the 15th June x0 -
First shop of month spent £82.99 this did include nose spray and allergy tablets 3Kg bag of Mr Ts Fusilli pasta for £2.00 which I thought was good deal.:DSave £4500 in 20140

Hi everyone
Well my June Grocery Challenge hasn't got off to a wonderful start. I've just come back from Sainsburys and I've spent £39.40 (I'm aiming for £40 per week:eek:) I did the self scan thing which was really good because it adds it up as you go and I have more than a weeks food so its not the end of the world but I am going to have to try harder. I seemed to lose concentration towards the last couple of bits on the list and just wanted to get it over with. Stupid shopping on a Sat morning really. On the up side the freezer is now full and I won't need to go near a shop now until next weekend :j(which will save on impulse shopping):j
Have a lovely weekend everyone
