    Hi all,

Joined in last year, but fell away from it half way through the year. Would like to start again as we need to watch the pennies. Can I be added to the list with a budget of £200 for OH and I? I know others can do it cheaper, but need to get a balance of convenience and price. Hope to reduce the total over the year.

    Thanks to those involved.
    xx

I did a big shop at Asda yesterday, spent around £93 (can't find the receipt today oops).

Put me down for £280 please Mrs M

My month runs from 1st to 28th, and is for 2 adult and three children.

Almost cracked it in May - only half term threw it out, so I have high hopes this time.

  • NSD for me today though I do need eggs but they can wait til I really need one. I still see "need" as being "there are none in the fridge/cupboard/freezer" rather than "I need one of those for something I am cooking today/this week". Getting there slowly but still some work to do.

I have just made the yoghurt and banana pancakes from the love food hate waste site and can report that they are very very nice. Didnt bother making their compote, just threw a bit of honey on mine nomnomnom.

Just totted up all of my food receipts from May, and quite pleased by the progress I've made in the food shopping total - couldn't believe it when I went through my purse and did this in March and April. Fingers crossed I'll be able to get it down to £100 this month. I've mealplanned for the entire month, so have already bought some things off the shopping list, but there are lots of perishable things that can't be bought until nearer the time. I'll go and update the total for June so far. BTW this is based on 2 adults, and includes things like the odd bunch of flowers for a friend and toiletries such as shampoo etc.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Hi, just calling in to set my budget for £300 for June please Mrs M. I have already spent about half of this but am well stocked up on everything and hope not to have too many extras to provide for! Mind you we had to bring DD1 home on Thursday as she is sick and needs her mum! Extra meals, fruit juice and special treats to tempt a poorly appetite are the order of the day - but I guess that's what mums are for! She's off to Germany on 1st August to study for 2 years and I don't know when I will seee her - so I am making the most of having her home even if she is ill.

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather - off to cut the grass and look at my veg boxes!

    Love Moniker

  • Spent £16.38 in Aldi today just on basics, couldn't get everything I needed to will probably pop to Mr T's tomorrow. I am going to do my meal plan for the week tonight and then pick up anything I need tomorrow. I really must come in under budget this month - and there is no reason why I won't as my cupboards and freezers are bulging, should only need fresh stuff.

Hi everyone & thanks to Mrs M, Pink & Rosieben for all the hard work maintaining the thread :T
Hear Hear, this has made such a difference for me as I can get my hubby involved and he can really begin to understand what "this Budgeting lark" is all about and how it benefits us as a family!:D

I'm really pleased to say I was really under budget last month and hope to do well again in this... we'll see!;)

    Good luck to everyone x
