    Hi all,

Interesting thread, wondered where i sat on the scheme of things, rather well it turns out.

50 year old College Lecturer (Construction), working in a school. £38.8k plus Pension. All school holidays, finish teaching at 3, prep of course, but if you get your act together there is not too much pull on your time.

Walking distance from work, rarely home later than 4pm. Every WE and Bank hols off. More peeps should do this.

Note though it took me until this age to get it right ish, but others could get there easily if it is of interest ( some guy posting here i recall stating 40 year with no job ect... have a look at this !!)

Any one wanting detail, prob bet PM, as i dont come on that often, and might miss a reply.

    Steve

Ooh, okay. I work as a Research associate at a university. I do around 37 hours a week (sometimes less, sometimes more - that's the way it works), 25 days leave, and 15 uni closed days, EXCELLENT pension, sick pay, flexitime, 40p per mile (and I do about 400 a month, so helps cover my car) and can work from home when I am not out and about seeing service-users. For this I earn £25k and I'm 24 (and not in London!).

My last job was an assistant psychologist and that pays around 21k. I got that when I was 22 just after graduating so I have been lucky. I'm hoping to do a doctorate in clinical psychology, which pays 26ish going up by 1k-ish each year of training (3 years), and around 30k when I qualify (I'll be 27/28 if I get on this year), but if I don't get on this year I am secure in my job til Sept 2011, and my salary goes up to 26k in Oct anyway :)

I did have to do a placement year during uni to secure a job so quickly after, which cost me 4k in loans etc, but I got paid for 6 months of it (only 6k across those months, but it meant it averaged out and more than paid for itself!).

OH is a web developer who graduated last year - he was a mature student after an unfruitful career start as a sales assistant. He's on 22k and also on the up at 25 years old :)

Comp wins also help out along the way :)
    2008-2011: £23k of wins
2011 best win: my wedding ring :o
2012 best win so far: iPad 2!!!! Holiday to Austria (given to family member) :j also £100 & 2 wine cases
Thank you so much, all posters
