that's one thing that has always puzzled me, it always seems to be the managers and the opnes high up in the company on big wages who always get the travel expenses and petrol paid when they can afford it.

whereas it's the ones at the bottom on mininum wage who really need the travel expenses to afford to be able to get to work each day cos petrol is so expensive. they never get any expenses paid.
Martin has asked me to tell you I'm about to cut the cheese, pull my finger.

  • I cant name my job title as I know there is only 1 of me in the UK and it would be all too easy to google it and everyone would know who I am but...

I work for the NHS and work 32 hrs a week and get approx 22k a year and all the usual perks that comes from working for NHS. Very pleased with that :-)

I have a rare, not too many of us about sort of job too. Sometimes being so specialised to one area is not the best. Trying at the mo to spread wings a little wider.

Sure, why not. Web developer, 28k. No benefits. Aged 25, so not doing too badly, though I could definitely do with a little side contract or two :D

Cool - you got some examples of sites you have done? I might be needed a website building soon.

When It comes to wage - I believe you should always aim for Wage for Age. I.e. if your 30, you want to be earning at least 30k.

27k a year - Analyst - NOT ENOUGH - NEED to break that 30k barrier!!

I totally agree with the above, i'm unfortunately a little behind with that! I'm 27, marketing assistant, 20k! Rubbish. Sticking it out though because it's a good job, i'm learning a lot, and it will lead to better things.

Was earning 25k working in a warehouse a few years back but moved to another job internally as it wasn't going anywhere and i didnt want to work in a warehouse for the rest of my life (no offence to anyone), and then after 2 years there got this job. Bearing in mind i left school with almost nothing having the job i've got now is quite an achievement i think. Big pay rise at xmas and i'll be happy! If i don't get a decent one though i'll be looking for a job in the same field elsewhere as i'll have nearly 2 years experience by then.

    Onwards and upwards.
