Taken me a lot of jumping around to reach here, but need to keep going and see where I could reach!

Hardly related, but main aim for now: Saving a deposit for first home I could call my own.

I also make money on the side through matched betting which averages about £800-£1k a month.

I've matched bet before, but have not managed to make anywhere near that figure in a month. May I ask whether you subscribe to sites that give you arbitrages they find or is there a hidden secret that I'm missing (if it's one for sharing of course).

I'm 28, just! and I'm a Senior Procurement Officer for a University - £37,382 with increments of £1,200 up to £45k if I'm here that long.

Thought it about time I updated this post.

Back end of 2015 I went for a job at a housing association which was quite a jump in terms of responsibility and wage. To my surprise I was offered the job!

It was a difficult decision whether to take it or not as I really enjoyed my role at the University. However, I decided it would be a good opportunity and accepted the job.

When I told my manager he was very supportive of my decision but said he didn't want me to go. Within 90 minutes of me telling him, I had a counter offer from the Director of Finance matching the wage of the new job.

A long story cut short I've now had a pay rise to just over £52k which is fantastic.

Benefits of the job include a fantastic place to work, great management, flexible hours, 29 days annual leave + bank holidays + paid Christmas closure (~ 4 days additional) and I get to play football twice a week at lunchtime with my two bosses.

The only negatives are the commute and I am now at the very top of my grade including additional points so I won't be able to increase my salary. Not much of an issue though.

    Oh an I'm now 30!

Similar story here, jumped around a bit but just landed a new BA role on £30k. After looking for a year, I was offered 2 identical jobs on the same wage! Made my choice and start next month.

I'm 32 and my day job (37 hours) is doing reprographics and digitisation in an archive and that's currently at £16239 going up to £17714 a year. Two nights a week I teach yoga which equates to about £3384 a year.

Saying that, I'm about to go down to three days a week at the archive and teach more yoga so it'll be interesting to see how it changes!

Neither are wonderfully paid jobs but I enjoy them both and that makes a heck of a lot of difference!
