Eight months later got my a job as School Admin and stayed until 2012. Have a small pension from 25 years with the multinational and a Public Sector pension from 23 years in school post.

Im 28, 8 weeks into new job as Office Manager for a church. 25k a year, mon-fri, flexi if needed to cover meetings outside office hours. Best bit? A boss who is human instead of governed by company policy (that and most of my meetings are conducted in various coffee shops, and people often bring in cakes and biscuits!)
Debt free on 2nd January 2015
    Next savings goals:
    £5k emergency fund

  • I worked in IT for 1 year and then made redundant during recession time, Since then working in a Corporate Security job rather more Admin work to do.

Feel really embarrass next to my family and friend because I have degree in IT and Business administration and still doing security job. Often make plan to startup something my own but could not think of where and what to start :(

To be honest don't want to work rather want to do something my own  , may be you guys can advice or suggest me something. I do have enough savings that if I had to leave work for 6 months I can manage it. :snow_laug

BTW earns 28k a year and work pattern is 4 on and 4 off.
  • 29 - ~£65k

Benefits include free gym, employee share purchase scheme (15% discount), up to £250 dental work, up to £200 eye wear and as much overtime as I want. It's a consultancy role, so all my travel costs are paid as well.

Long term incentives are a share scheme, I get x number every year for the next 5 years.

    That last one in London?

I'm hitting a ceiling at ~£50k and with asset prices rocketing I don't see how others on less can get by - and I save a LOT! Would love to do something else and get more money but what??? It seems only finance/IT offers higher salaries and even then is that always guaranteed? Am I actually on ok money!?
