Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....

    Is that in London?

McCloud, what did you study to become that? Wow, my equivalent comes to ~£25 per day which is paltry in comparison.

19lottie82, nice! A friend of mine did similar with musical gear but found there's just too much competition now.

Black Dynamite - well done, and continued good luck to you. I agree uni isn't the be all and end all (though I'm glad I went).

I'm 23, I work for a Charity as a IT Systems Administrator in Central London, I've been here for 2 years now, I had to work 3 months unpaid (expenses paid) but now earning £24k a year. It's my first job.

I've been nudging them to pay me more but I'm a bit scared/shy, I am the only individual in the IT department 5 days a week, there are around 40-50 sites around the UK. We have an IT contractor who comes every now and then to check the back end stuff which I've got no experience of dealing with, his been with them for the last 15 years.

I plan to speak to them before the end of the month and hoping they will boost my salary to above the £30k mark and if not, I will consider my options.

I am now looking for a part-time job to do outside of my 9-5/5 days a week office job, I believe I would make a good Sales Advisor at somewhere like Currys/PC World, or if it's at all possible, IT Contracting jobs such as roll outs in the evening/weekends. If anyone can give me any advise/help on this, would be greatly appreciated, just trying to earn as much as I can whilst I'm young and have plenty of energy.

Work for a global IT company. Worked for a number of mid-range IT companies prior to this following the fairly typical route of end-user/consultant/senior con/project manager to reach around £65k pa. Have managed to push on in the current company and I'm now a senior manager.

    Basic £110k
    £6k car
    £15k bonus
    Usual health cover etc. etc.
I leave home at 05:30, get home around 22:00, try to work from home 1 or 2 days a week. Usually work for a few hours on Sundays catching up.
  • ERPGuy, what a package - amazing! Though when I saw the hours you work.. I had to admit I wouldn't do it even for that money!
