21, Programme Co-Ordinator (Office) and £15k standard + Potential £2k bonuses (£500/qtr) dependent on targets being met.
Limited progression within the company I am at currently, so will have to look elsewhere if I want to move further, which is a shame as I enjoy my role. Started on £14k standard about a year ago, so wage increase has been good.

Have you been told there will be limited progression? I thought that a few years back and asked "what can I do for the company in order to progress?", got me a tidy pay rise and a promotion 6 weeks later.

If you're valued, and it's possible, they'll find you a role if they think they may lose you.

Hmm, the only other role that exists that I could go up to would be account management, which would be around £25k mark, but there is a lot more commitment involved for the extra pay, travelling etc as well.

I have also started Mystery Shopping / Auditing on the side to bring in extra income which I find quite enjoyable, and want to launch my own small business to bring in some extra money next year too - so not too worried about career progression just yet.
Living quite comfortably at the moment with a relatively stress-free life, but just thinking about progression for when I want to get a mortgage or something.

Team leader in Asda - £16000 / 37.5hrs p/w potential for bonuses on top

work less than a mile from home which suits me

sometimes cover other stores if needed which works out good as they pay 45p a mile and get travelling time and time & half if do over my hours so working a weekend is ideal as closest place for me is 130miles away plus they pay overnight hotel & £20 towards evening meals

I'm an Equipment Administrator for a warehouse. I earn £25k for 37.5 hours a week. The benefits are pretty good, they include private health / dental cover. amongst others.

I also have my own eBay business where I estimate I will earn about £18k pre tax this year.

I put all my earnings from the latter into a savings account tho, and try not to touch it unless I really need to.

Benefits: self employed, own hours, only limit on my income is my own creativity, work from home, able to be home for my son.

Drawbacks: no job security, fickle market place.

How do you make £100k also?

I know someone, who is currently in the top 100 for e-books on Amazon, and has had 7 very successful books this year already, selling several hundred thousand books a quarter, and they don't even make 100k!

  • Hi Spock,

I'm 25, been working in IT (Helpdesk, Field Technician, IT Support) since I was 18. Started doing Web Development over the past few years, now my main job and thought i'd try Freelancing part time.

Its difficult to start with, but once you've got a few ratings you can charge a little more and still get considered. I'm now at the point where i've got a few agencies I work with and rarely need to apply for more work.

Hoping that this time next year i'm matching my full time salary, currently charge between £15 and £25 per hour so it really is worth doing.

    Thanks

You're doing well to earn so much if you've not got a degree? No offence there, you know what I mean! I'm sure that number will go up..

An employer will pay what they can get away with and no more. Best bet is to move company.
