  • Left my job as a Team Leader in Manufacturing (£600p/w) to take a paycut as a New Project Quality Engineer (£30k p/a). Difference is that I was working between 60 and 70 hours a week as a Team Leader. I've been working (for the last 6 months) just a basic 39 hours a week with very little weekend work, for a guaranteed basic wage. I've learned at the age of 26 that money doesn't buy your happiness.

    600 p/w is ~£31 200 per year

    £30K for 39 hours/week is much more than £31 200 at 60-70 hours/week?

Don't particularly understand that statement. If it's saying that the position doesn't require skill, then why would some of the most successful companies in all sectors pay upwards of 70K for professionals in this position?

If it was sarcasm, then you don't know my qualifications, or technical skills and abilities.
