    Main occupation atm is Student - Finishing in September.. income err nothing apart from some discretionary money :P

    In terms of part time employment - Self-Checkouts about 7K per year and Computer Admin about - just over 1k per year.

    Don't particularly understand that statement. If it's saying that the position doesn't require skill, then why would some of the most successful companies in all sectors pay upwards of 70K for professionals in this position?

    If it was sarcasm, then you don't know my qualifications, or technical skills and abilities.

    I suspect that was sarcasm... if you have got your foot on the ladder without experience then you have done well. You are right... the IT industry can pay quite well depending on the technology you work with.

    I am 39 now, had a complete career change when I was 32 to move into IT from a HR role earning about £26k per year at the time. I had no prior experience, just good with computers.

    Freelance now, based in London and currently earning about £98k per year.

    I'm 30, an office administrator on 18k, with little room for progression and no discernible skills to get a better job with.
