What would be a fair spec reapcement for samsung tv?

I have today been informed that i will be getting vouchers to replace my samsung ps42q96hdx plasma 42 inch tv. I have looked at samsung tvs however they are a lot cheaper now but the one that they will base thier like for like replacement one only has one scart.
However i like samsung and the next one up is considerably more than i paid and what they would offer.
Would i be unerasonable to expect to have a samsung tv as i did before even if this is considerably more. I feel samsung is better quality than others i like their look.
I do not wish to argue further with this company as on the thread listed currys breach of contract, thanks to lord kalms the matter has been resolved.
I would appreciate any advice

No you dont have a claim.
If they give you vouchers to the value of your TV its upto you to put up the extra or accept a different model from what you want.
You dont have a right to more simply because you fancy a more expensive tv.0 -
I dont expect more than i had before the nearest model 649.99 i paid 999.99. However i have 2 scarts and the new tv has one and i need 2 but all new samsungs have apart from more expensive models. Do i have a right to have a tv with two scrarts as that is what i need and have??.0

No
You have the right to the value of your TV. how you choose to spend those vouchers is your choice0 -
You could try and dispute that they aren't replacing it with an item of "like" quality.
this would be exempt if theyre supplying you with vouchers I would assume.
If you're looking for a 42" approx plasma TV I would highly recommend that you consider the Panasonic range, amazing quality for money, affaik only beaten by the Pioneer range. The Pannys are widely available for approx 500-550 if you look about including a 5yr warranty. More than happy with mine and I paid 700 for it about 12month ago, has been fantastic on Analogue and Digital TV shows, HD and SD gaming and also HD-DVD and other assorted media.0 -

If your previous TV had two scarts and its reasonable that you need two scarts then it would be reasonable to expect the Insurer to offer a TV that had two scarts.
You will find these guidance notes from the Financial Ombudsman and case studiers helpful. (These are published to guide Insurers and Policyholders and your Insurer should go by the Ombudsmans guidance)

as i mentioned in your older thread you are entitled under whatever happens to an exact like for like model or better
your in for a fight but i got my £800 laptop replaced with a £1500 one just a month ago in your situation because i argued over bluetooth and an extra usb port that i didnt actually need but if im entitled to it why not?
so if you had 3 scarts (example) you can argue for 3 scarts
just say you have 3 things using scart eg wii, vcr, dvd player
and you need them
read my other post in your other tread for more info or pm me seeing as it looks like im the only one who has been in the exact same position as you recently.Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
I have 2 scart and need one for my home theatre system and i think it would be fair to expect two scarts as original.
I take the point about panasonic however i bought samsung as i like it and i arnt keen on panasonic i think samsung is a better make, am i been unreasonable to ask for the same manfacturer even if it cost upto the 999.99 i paid.
I havent looked properly yet but i think it would be in teh region of above plus its 50" as they have no 42" in that spec with samsung. It i sgoing to be a a hard task to get one what i want i know.0 -

completely wrong im afraidBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Yes it is
They only have to give you vouchers to the value to meet their obligation.
You seem to be using the lack of stock to blackmail more out of them.
Take the vouchers and if you want a better TV than yours was currently worth pay the extra0
