How do you put credit on these? I was thinking of buying one purely as a back up in case my router breaks down again and I was left with no internet.

If these can only be topped up online then would this be a waste for me? I obviously wouldn't have any internet access to top it up or do they just let you connect to buy a top up first to be able to use it?

I've never tried mobile broadband before so I am completely clueless!

this is a megga buy at worst it will cost you £13.75!!!!, you may all pass comment about the price and want something for nothing but in the case of this dongle its a win win. These dongles usally come locked so unlocking it will cost from £5-£15 quid. Also the dongle is a micro sd card reader aswell so it can double up as a memory stick, two uses for the price of one.

Firstly you need to test your dongle to see its unlocked go to dc-unlocker.com/downloads down load client software and click maginfying glass to get dongles details if it come up unlocked (fantastic) then down load generic dash board dc-unlocker.com/downloads/open/33 E160_dashbaord etc etc etc. Run software and it will earse the 02 software from the dongle and put the genric software on. Only thing now is put your choose sim card in and the Network setting/APn and way you go.

Free three sim three.co.uk/freesim to tes your connections the 3 sim will allow you to connect to my3.three.co.uk It will be the best £13.75 used in a long while if you can get it cheaper then great and good luck which makes the dongle a BARGIN BARGIN

Once your SIM/dongle connects to the O2 network, it'll let you go to the top up page only to add credit. The page is at mobilebroadbandaccess.o2.co.uk so you may as well bookmark it.

The o2 website says you can't top it up the normal way. (and you wouldn't want to because you don't have to topup £10 at a time when you do it online)
