I booked through Carjet [with Auriga Crown at Palma] back in November for a 12 day rental at the end of June that was booked costing €186. I've just had an e-mail telling me that they've no cars left and I'm on my own.

The next comparable quote I can get is circa €430, with an Insurance excess that would make your eyes water and, for the same car hire companies that were open all hours for the last 10 years, now charging €30-46 if you arrive between 0000-0730 to collect your car.

Booking early is by no means any guarantee of getting a car let alone paying a reasonable price and, given the exchange rate reduction, the car is now significantly more expensive than the flights for 5 of us travelling from the UK :mad:

Now thats a little bit naughty......
In my opinion Carjet should honour that booking......I think they are pulling a fast one here.....cancelling your booking because they can now get double that for the hire car in todays market.
I would insist that they provide you the car at that price.......but I am sure that there is loadsa small print to cover their backs !!!!!
And I always had them down as a reputable company.

After doing research I booked my car hire for July 21st through Carjet at approx 260 euros for 2 weeks in February this year- I tried to pay for it, but it would not let me - today they have cancelled it and are now asking for 490 euros - I have just rung them and they say that they have been let down by Gold Car and have had to rebook it through someone else - can they do this I have a confirmation email from them, they state that I am lucky to get a car
    Titch :)

I still say they are working a fiddle here......cancelling then making you re book.....but as I said before I am sure they are covered by their Terms & Conditions.
I would have a look at other peoples prices before telling them to get stuffed !!!
I have actually seen the state of the cars at Murcia airport and the last couple of times I was there the car hire car parks were virtually empty which is really quite unusual.
Have a look at Economy Car Hire or maybe Do You Spain for a quote..........

Same kind of story really - got a quote in February for 5 days car hire from AmigoAutos at Girona Airport for 2 weeks' time. Quote in Feb was £78 now they want £208. We're only staying 1/2 an hour's drive away on the Coast so we're just going to get a taxi.

Anyone got any experience of getting a cab at Girona Airport please - can you haggle or are prices fixed?

Don't want to use holiday taxi type sites as have done this before and always thought we were charged over the top for the journeys we had.

    TIA.

I also booked car hire through carjet last November for the 2nd week in July for 160 euros. They are now telling me that Auriga haven't got the car and offered me a smaller car through Goldcar for nearly double my original price. This is not acceptable 3 weeks before my holiday is due to start!

I've taken legal advice and I have to write to them and state that I have a contract with them and they are breaking that contract - I will be doing that on Monday
    Titch :)

Has anyone on here used/or had dealings with Decode Car Hire?

Nice website, prices far too cheap. Am a bit dubious

I too have looked at their website and quote in July is much, much cheaper than all the other sites.
    Anyone used them before?
    TIA
