Hi Guys Bt have cut off my Broadband! Hence the AWOL. I gave them the provisional completion date, and was assured it could be cancelled up to midday the day before should the sale not happen, or be delayed, I work from home and have been unable to do anything.
And I still havent exchanged, my buyers sol dragged their heals asked more questions etc, which have now been answered and they are ready to go, but now theres a complication with funds at the bottom of the chain.......give me strength, my buyer pushed and pushed and stamped her feet that she would pull out if completion wasnt on a certain date, not leaving me time between exchange and completion, I said from the day she first came to view, I needed it as I was going in to rented, but hey! Hopefully all this will be sorted some time this week, so the stress continues.

    Congratulations Calmspirit.......
:j What a sigh of relief it must be for you after all this time.
:j Davesnave.......Wishing you every happiness back in Devon.

Thanks pawpurrs, and everyone else, for your kind good wishes. I've just sent the balance of the money over to the solicitors, so that's us done and dusted... I hope...... just remembered Welshwoofs thread!:rotfl:

Pawpurrs, I hope you have given BT a flea in their ear, but you have more pressing concerns by the sound of it. Back in January, it was the FTB in our chain that held everyone up, apparently oblivious to the hassle she was causing. Let's pray yours is merely scatterbrained too.

I think you are heading for a sainthood.:A

    Hi guys!

feeling very stressed today, had the buyers surveyor on the phone earlier wanting to come round tomorrow. not really worried about that as the house is only 20 years old but i told myself i wouldnt even think about where the packing and renting somewhere til the surveyor had been and now suddenly its upon me!

aggghhhh buyer wants us out by end of sept and we have nowhere to go,,have never rented before and it's scaring me a bit. have persuaded granny to let us store some stuff in her garage but i'm sure she'll make me regret it in the long run.

the kids are so calm about it all i dont think they realise i'm falling apart over it all!

how long do you reckon it will take form once the surveys done to exchange? kinda wished i'd said they couldnt come til next week:rotfl:

Been reading this thread for a long time and just wanted to say congrats to those who have recently exchanged/completed and good luck to those still waiting!

We are FTBs waiting to exchange contracts and after reading all these threads and all our hassles so far I've decided that I never want to move! Don't think I could cope with the stress of a chain.

Pink, relax about renting. It's really OK and the interest rates on the money you'll have in the bank are improving a bit too. Lots of choice out there, but you do need a few weeks between exchange and completion. That will give you the certainty to put money down in advance on the rental and to push for the best deal.

We'd not rented before, so we thought that with two cats and a couple of ferrets it would be a nightmare. Not a bit of it! The house we chose is fairly basic and we wouldn't want to buy it, but it's done us very well, enabling DD2 to finish college and giving us the edge as cash buyers.

Don't be put off by the words, 'No pets,' either. Sometimes it really means what it says on the tin, but at other times it's there to guard against the '3 rottweillers and a python' brigade. (or two ferrets!)

With a couple of months to the end of September you'll have time to suss out the renting agents. We soon found a few that were on our wavelength, and so will you. Go for it!

Congratulations Davesnave! Hope you get there soon PP.

The solicitor got our formal mortgage offer today even though the survey was only done today so that's good. Unfortunately it says it's up to 10 working days before we get the report (full survey) so I hope it doesn't show anything up that might delay the sale.

Our contract has gone to our buyers and our solicitor received the draft contract from our vendor. She did tell me she'd got it last week but apparently some other bits were missing from it. Given the fact that I have to have at least 2 weeks between exchange and completion I can see the beginning of September disappearing as a potential completion date.

thanks davesnave.....feeling a bit better now i have a bottle of red on the go!

the pet thing isnt an issue as we only have a few goldfish now..the last cat died last winter and i said we wouldnt get another one until we were moved in somewhere permanantly.

mind you if they say no kids i may be tempted!

need to speak to some of the local agents really to get a feel for it all but with the kids off its so hard to think straight about it. perhaps its time to get a babysitter in for a few hours and head into town!
