Tell me about it, the offer we had for our car doesn't reflect the cost of what we've spent on it over the last 3 years. I was hoping to recoup everything I've spent, including fuel.

Its a shame you bought a depreciating asset - you should have invested in land ;)
  • LOL - Appreciating value of cars....

My mentality is that as I most likely to be coming off the ladder (I am on a DMP so I expect very few lenders will want to touch my currently about 99% equity mortgage) I am only looking to cover my mortgage/secured loan, EA/solicitor fees and a little bit on top to smooth over the first few months. Hopefully.....

  • Well our house has been on the market now and.................... nothing at all, no questions about it in the estate agents !!

so much for being able to sell it easily !! the estate agent told us our house would sell with them no problems !!

it doesnt help that the EA only got the brochures ready yesterday which is 10 days after going on the market !!

Am i expecting to much ..................

Well I'm no expert.. selling (or rather attempting to sell) my first house at the mo.
But 10 days does sound excessive.

I had the EA round for a valuations at 3pm, and decided to go with them. They had the brouchure done the next day and it went on line the day after that.

Been on the market for a week and a half now and I've had 4 viewings and one offer :j

(Not getting too excited about the offer yet though as that lady hasn't sold her house yet)
  • We had a viewing within 3 days of agreeing to instruct (they did not tell us until after we signed, so it was not a case of trying to capture our custom unfairly).

None of the details went online or printed until about 5 days after that though.....

[rollseyes]You are declining an offer of 12% below asking price. Savvy.[/rollseyes]

Made a couple of offers myself 13%ish under asking price today, both sellers came back within a few minutes saying they wanted within about 3% of asking? It's a pain having invested so much time into viewings to find it's been a wasted investment as the sellers are completely unrealistic :(

I'm not going to even bother viewing till Autum, sellers just need to get realistic at the moment or never sell.

Hopefully a few months of no interest will make them see sense.

Yes, I've decided to suspend all viewings through the spring. The sunshine just makes sellers a bit ditzy, some buyers too. No doubt a quantum of vendors will get lucky with a spring-drunk buyer. I'm going to wait till mid-summer to start viewing again when the market is even more dead. This time of year there's plenty to do on our family allotment to ensure a bumper crop of wholesome fresh veg. I'll suspend my viewing and get on with my life.

Bit of unnecessary sarcasm there, methinks? Let me guess, you're not trying to sell, are you? So are you just on this thread to annoy those of us who are?
