I think our buyers have walked into buying our house with their eyes closed to the issues that have been drawn to their attention (as did we) and the market really had gone quiet since their offer was accepted (we let another agent keep it on the books) with 0 viewings in many weeks.
Good luck to all, grab hold of your buyer and keep them!

Our "buyer" is having her survey done this week, which is good, but we've had an offer accepted on somewhere and the top of the (short) chain wants to exchange in 4 weeks
Fingers crossed, we need this to run as smooth as possibly imaginable, but at least our EA should have Proof of Funds by now and we're off to sort out our mortgage application tomorrow (we had an appt last week just to discuss our options ie porting, borrowing extra, erc's, affordability etc)
Good to read some positive stories this morning:silenced:0 -
Morning all,
Yeh, good news to log on and see some activity for a change! Hope everything continues to go well for people who are moving forward.
Still !!!!!! all happening for us, but off on holiday tomorrow, so can forget all about it for a week!0 -
congrats to all with the great news this week - i wish i was one of them
i think i might have done the wrong thing this morning!
fed up with not getting anywhere i called into my EA this morning (have prev only spoken by email and ph). expressed my utter fustration at situation (in a really nice calm polite way) but said we would have to look at renting if it doesn't go soon.
hope i didn't come across totally desperate and EA tells people that!!!Saying Thank You doesn't cost anything :beer:0 -

Hello all,
I'm still here albeit very quietly:wave:
After 9.5 weeks on the market we got our first House Network viewing which subsequently led to an offer which we accepted! Our buyers had recently pulled out of another house sale nearby because of the survey results (£50,000 of work showed up:eek:), then they decided to offer on another house around the corner from us, but they missed out on that, so we are now their "3rd time lucky" - I hope....
I have been a gibbering wreck worrying about the survey and what it may bring up and was in fact more nervous about the survey than the viewing itself as I know it can be the deal maker or breaker! Mr Surveyor came today, did a homebuyers survey and was here for 3 hours ug! He was very nice and told me that these survey results were going to be vastly different from the  house they pulled out of (he had also done that survey), but didn't give much else away even though I probed him lots! He just said that there will be things that show up on a house this age (115 years old) and wouldn't expect anything else.
So we are nowhere near out of the woods yet, but a little further along the path....0 -
I've been here, reading but not posting, still with the house on the market (we put the house on the market May 2009) but finally, we have a 2nd viewing from a couple who viewed the house just after they put their house on and now have accepted an offer and want to come back and see if its still as they remember ~ they have been questioning our E/A about what we'll accept and so it does seem quite positive :j
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, we've been here twice before but I have finally started looking at prospective houses for us to view again
(Plus, we've already had a survey done by the previous prospective nightmare buyers and have managed to get the work done that was flagged up so shouldn't have any scary issues highlighted this time round to put anyone off!)“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

No, it was not at al obvious - how on earth am I supposed to know what you have written in another thread?
Frankly, I can't believe you found it so difficult - they loved their dog, they were buying the house, why the problem?
Good grief. This is not financial nor legal nor property advice. Consult a paid professional if in doubt.0 -

Sorry tawse - this thready was very big on here about a month ago and was features as Martin's dilemma in his weekly email - I was being tongue in cheek when I posted it as it has been generally assumed to be a wind up.0 -
Out of nowhere, a viewing last night and an offer this morning.
Only drawback is they're also offering on another house in the area, which is really nicely finished and just dropped 10k on the asking price to match ours.
I think it'll be a case of who'll take the lowest offer. Have gone back with a counter offer (closer to their offer than the asking price), just got to wait and see now.0
